Nissan just revealed its 2020 Vision Gran Turismo concept, saying the car offers a hint at its plans for future vehicle design.

The car comes from a team of young designers from Nissan Design Europe in London, England. But the company said it had “so much potential that it has benefited from input from an advanced engineering team.” Nissan and PlayStation reveal future vision

Nissan said very little about the car today aside from the fact that it has a 2+2 seating configuration. Powertrain details are still a secret, but the company hinted at more serious plans for a car that would actually look like this by saying it believes the real world is ready for the concept, saying “watch this space.”

The car will be available to download and drive starting in July. Nissan also made mention in its press release of how Gran Turismo players have been able to drive the GT-R and past Skylines in the game. That and the likeness this car bears to the R35 GT-R both seem like strong hints that the “Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo” is really a preview of the next GT-R.

Past rumors suggested that Nissan’s next GT-R will be a hybrid, possibly with as much as 800 hp with a 0-60 sprint of 2.7 seconds.
