Getting rid of the KA-T, what next RB25 or SR20?

Well here's my car, the turbo setup put down 231hp 246tq to the wheels, at 6psi, I want something faster, I am selling the entire setup (email driftjunke@hotmail.com if you're interested) to go with either a SR, or a RB25 in my S14, I am not giving up on the KA-T, I have a 94 Convertable for the KA-T, but it will be a new wild set-up, like nothing seen before.

Here's the current set-up, T3/T4, Log Manifold, 3 inch DP, 370cc's, Blow Through MAF setup, 30x11x2.5 FMIC

Now this S14 has a kouki front-end, and will have a widebody kit on it within the next month. My dilemma is, SR for cheaper right now, or wait a little more, and go RB25? I need help, I can't decide.

Yes the turbo set-up is being sold, I am taking offers, email me if you are interested, I am selling everything for 2700. I am most likely going RB25, E&E Motorsports is going to do an equal length manifold, and a bigger turbo setup on it, and start offering it to other rb25 swapped 240s.

I have a hard-on for turbo Ka's but thats just me....

I want to see someone try to fit the individual throttle body and manifold set up off a 26 onto thier 25 head....anyone seen this?

If E&E wanted ot be different i think that would be cool...but its just a pipe dream that floated into my head as i typed this...i dont even know if its possible (seems like it should be)

It's been done several times according to SDU, and it's not really worth it.

BUT...If anyone wants to be different, the RB30 has still not been done in the US yet.

Good luck with the RB,

SDU (what does that stand for)? Do you know why they said it wasn't worth it....I am just wondering what it would do for throttle response, spool time, max power versus the regular rb25 set up....and any other notable stuff.

I thought that www.dragdriftautox.com sold rb30's? Has he just not sold any yet, or does he sell them mostly to people outside the US or something?

Skylines down under, there are several ppl on their forums that have taken the RB30E from their VL Commodores and put 25 or 26 heads on them. I don't know why they don't like the throttle setup from the 26, but they usually go with q45 maf and TB instead. An RB30DET is similar to the 2jz (imagine that), and It might be because alot of the larger turbos used(T76-T88), on 26's, 30's, and even 2jz's will outflow the Indiv. TB's

Luis(sp) does sell RB30DET's, and he may have sold some already, but I scour every RB forum, and have never seen one running in a 240sx in the states.

If I was one of the first to build an rb30 stateside I would certainly wanna take it on a forum and show it off a little. . . so I guess its not too likely someone would build one and not let it be known.

I would have thought the individual TB's flowed more then a single throttle body like w/ an rb25...odd.

Do you know of any companies that make an upgrade to the 26's set up (i.e. six ported throttle bodies you could swap in place of the stockers)? If you did put larger throttle bodies on, does the stock intake mani have enough material in the runner walls to be ported to accomadate a sizable increase in TB diameter or would you have to make a new manifold? Or perhaps you could fabricate some kind of adapters to go between the runners and the TB's...if so do you think it would be worth it, the bigger restriction would be the stock manifold's runners at this point (correct?)

Sorry to thread jack you EE, but I had to....:)

I use a SAFC2, the kit comes with the SR injectors, but no fuel management. With this setup, you can use a hacked MAF setup. You can find a used SAFC for about 150, and it will work perfect, makes tuning easier. I am selling this for 2500 plus shipping, should be only about 30 bucks, I have some bills that just came up, and I need to get them taken care of.
