MAN ive been looking for 3months and cant find one decent 94-98 240sx in georgia. I'm just wondering how long it took all of you to find your babies....cause I'm getting so tired of not having a car. And another question...if I cant find one...what do you guys think I should look at...I'm feelin either a lude or a teg but I really just want a 240...I duno this thread is sort of pointless but how long did it take you guys to find your 240?

Are you looking for one for track or just to drive???
you can try auto-auctions or E-bay.
lol, or you can get a datsun 280, Totota MR-2, Mazda RX-7 or anything.
but, I'll tell you now, You will always find a 240 no matter what, It just takes time don't rush into getting one. when you do find one make sure you have someone that knows car to come with you to look at it, chances are the car isn't in good condition. Well, I hope you find one and good luck.

look in autotrader theres one in stone mt. Also dont be afraid to just ask somebody driving one. and dont get discouraged if its an auto also. The manual swap isnt that difficult if you have any mechanical experience. also try automart, ebay, newspaper, local racing forums, ask small dealership owners if they are willing to find one for you. theres a ton of ways to find a car.

yea, im looking for one as MY first car, but am sort of having doubts because of how many threads that read "help me get my baby running again", so i am almost thinking about getting a gti, even though they are fwd :greddy:

The demand for 240's is very high and the buyers are the ones driving the price up and are picking them up right away. As soon as you see one listed, you have to contact the seller IMMEDIATELY!

My advice....if you are very determined to get a 240....buy another car so you have transportation. Then, keep looking. Once you find one, you can sell of the temp. car.

It seems like you can only find these cars for a good price if you know someone...who knows someone selling one. The ones advertised on the Internet and in the newspaper are being snatch up immediately.

3 months and a 3 thousand mile drive.

good luck......Preludes are good vehicles, as are integras.
accords are better :thumbsup errr, certain ones

but yeah, find a cheap car for now - you'll come across a deal eventually

When I had the cash to buy a 240 it took me a week to find the right one. But if you give up I suggest the integra.

I hate that, when i was a newbie i could find all sorts of 240s but now that i have the money its so hard to find them, well the one i want.

Took me around a year. I didnt even care what year it was as long as it had the DOHC. I finally found one that had a slightly bent frame, just about .25 inch and bought it for 1700...not bad, not in perfect condition but it will suffice.

I bought mine even before I knew I wanted it. I was casually looking, searched on ebay and I think the third one I looked at was selling in my area. I emailed the guy to let me know if he didn't sell it to email me back. He did, I looked at it, and gave him cash. I knew that I could sell it if I decided I didn't want it.

But this was almost a year ago. :thumbsup

4 months for me. 4 long months. I came across one s14 for 5k, it had a lot of dents and nics though, I wanted it so badly. I instead just waited, and came across the one I had now. In perfect condition, paint in excellent condition, low miles, and it was only for $3,900. I contacted the dealer and about it immediately, even before they got the 240 lol.

I've wanted an s14 since '99. back then my budget was $5k
so I got an accord.

now, a pignose fell into my lap for a steal of a price
never did find the one I wanted originally
but I'm happy, I love my car

What you have to do is every Saturday morning wake up at 7 a.m. and go the nearest gas station. You'll be the first one getting the new autotrader and you'll have about 4 hours till the next one is purchased. There is always at least one S14 in every new issue, well thats the case for S. Florida. But dont lose patience and you'll find your car.

Took me 2 1/2 months.

Took me about 3 weeks to find one and it was in NC. Had to drive 5 hours but was worth it. I'd say if you cant find one soon depending on your price range just save up for a s2k lol. The year 2000 s2k is getting lots cheaper. You could always look for 944's... Theres a guy in Savannah with white one w/ a rebuilt engine and some goodies on it. I dunno its all about preference and what your looking for in a car.

well i am in georgia too and i picked up a 96base 5speed for 1800 bucks a couple months back.. i was really interested in them.. and i saw it for sale.. asked and found out how much of a steal it was.. went home got the money and the rest is history..

dont get discouraged.. good things to those who wait.. or just happen by luck to find what they are looking for..

I pretty much stumbled onto both of mine. I was looking for 5spd. import as I was going to sell my POS (first car ever). 2 weeks later my dad happened on a 91 5spd 240. My 2nd one I found in a tow yard with no wheels. Be patient, though 240s are a hot commodity, I'm sure there's one out there.
