Ok everyone....I need honest answers here. How many of us loved the 240 and wanted the 240 before the whole S15/SR20 conversions made it to our shores? And how many of us out there were INSPIRED by the fast and the furious movies? hahaaha I see so many kids out there with bone stock cars with altezza lights flossin "jiggy" in their civics thinkin they're reacers. LMAO but hey to each their own, As for me I always knew I wanted a 240.......either that or an integra. Haha Good thing Acura's overpriced over here. Otherwise I might jus be another ricer. What's your stories?

I used to be a ricer...I wanted a Teg w/ a wing and wheels. I didn't even know what an intake was back then.

Then I started learning about what cars actually do and saw some drifting videos..the timing of the two pushed my into the 240 world.

i wanted a 240 when i was first lookin at cars. i didnt know anything about them except that i liked the looks. i couldnt find one so i got a prelude and got into the honda scene. i was never a huge ricer, but i was one. finally one showed up across the street, and i grabbed it. now im in the nissan scene and the only thing id consider rice on my car is the konigs. i do still have a thing for some honda such as prelude, integra, and s2000... but for the most part im purely nissan.

I had an SR clip lined up a couple years ago, and I was ready to get that($1500 shipped) and a 90 FB when some financial hard times hit for me. I was forced to postpone the project, and I picked up a 93 accord to hold me over. Unfortunatly, during that time, SCC published the silvia articles and the prices on clips have gone up so much since then. I kinda regret not buying the clip anyways, but I would have been sitting on it for over a year if I had bought it back then.

My friends and i have always been into to "go" rather then "show". I have about 4 friends with like 10,11, and 12 sec. cars that are on the streets right now, that we put together. I always liked the Silvia's and the Rx-7's so i knew that i would get one of these, so know that i have my silvia i can get started on my project.

Altezza lights have nothing to do with the fast and the furious....per say. They were not actually in the movie however it's funny how the number of Altezzas JUMPED in the import scene after the release of the movie. After that I think I saw MORE under carraige lights more windshild washer lights and more altezzas in a month then i've seen in a years worth of import scene.

I followed a "riced out" S2000 down to nopi...the only thing not rice was the giant procharger he had under his hood.

Just goes to show you can never tell what is really rice and what isn't.

i got my 240 in 98 when i was 16. first car...only car...my whole family drives nissans. we got a 00 max and a 97 altima. people back then always asked me why i chose the 240, and now everyone wants one. i did some research, not too much, but then the car grew on me to the point that it is the only thing i want to drive right now.

i was NEVER into rice, before i knew anything about cars i had a VW golf cause i like the hatch and they were good for my subs. then i started hanging out at the track and got into engines, which inspired me to get into some american steel , IE my next car, my nova. then i jumped at the chance to beef up to 80's muscle and got my grand natty. which got jacked and made me realize that i needed some better milage and something that wasnt gonna cost me 9 grand for a stock car. so i sunk down to the import scene but retained my turbo.

I got my 240 after reading and reading and reading. After seeing a couple of Options videos 2 years ago I wanted and started looking for a RWD japanese car and the 240 was in my budget. I can say, however, that I have always loved every body style of the 240 since I was growing up. Come to think about it... it's gonna be my 1 year anniversary with my car in a month or so...

let's see.....i always wanted a 90-91 CRX cuz it's tiiight, but never had the plan to make it rice (altezzas..chrome rims..etc..) but then my dad didnt really want me to drive a small ass car...then i proceeded to look for another car and found 240....but yet, it's still a small car... but my dad didnt have any problem with it...and that's how i got my 240.....

no plan w/ it yet...just the basic stuff ....(shocks & springs, and Injen intake...that's it...)

i used to wanna be a ricer, and i had had "dreams" of running texas heat wave in my 96 integra type-r... but of course the money wasnt there so i settled for a civic.. vtec... the thing was so slow. i was with my friend brian in his 89 300zx with a 93 tt motor built by dominick from racers edge (east providence, ri) R.I.P dominick...

anyway back to the story, we came across a integra gs-r. the thing looked good, nice kit, nice wheels, engine was all dressed up, nice nos bottle in the back.. but we burnt him by 3-4 car lengths. it was then that i started to like 300zx's then my friend nick introduced me to 240's and drifting. and thats where i am today :)

I had a 2nd generation Prelude (the boxy kind) back in 1996-97 and had it lowered, exhaust-ed, and with 95 Integ. GSR wheels before 99% of the people around here ever thought of fixing up their cars.

Back then it was fun and there were some beautifully modified imports and hardly anything that would be considered "rice" nowadays... but around '99 or so the scene here got really annoying (and trendy) and I got out of it completely.

When my Accord Hatchback was totalled in a hit and run I knew for sure I wanted RWD but didn't really know what. I looked for a while for an MR2 but all that I could find were beat on too much so I started looking for a 90-93 240SX - I've always liked the hatchbacks and there's an awesome dark grey one near my mom's house that's caught my eye for over a year now (and also a pretty nice red Silvia front-end-H/B on the same street) -

I was taking my time shopping for a car until my motorcycle got stolen in June and I had no transportation. I found a '97 5-spd. a week later and since my budget was increased without the motorcycle payment, I could afford it.

*sorry for the length

What helped me get into cars was the very first Gran Turismo game.I had always wondered what it would've been like to build me a Hi-performance car. Also one of my dream cars was(and still is) the C5 Corvette.

The F&F came out and al my friends would be looking at import tuner and other rice mags.I'd look at them and think "what kind of ghey shit is this?.If I had a vette I'd kill'em all.."
Then they would all talk shit how there some civics that would smoke vettes and vipers..

Then I kinda got into the smaller imports(I already knew about STi's before they were released here,Supras,Skylines, etc.)Plus I thought it was about time I got my own car.

I was really diggin the Integras because of their handling and I wanted to build one up to 250HP NA.No more.No less..

FWD+Too much HP=shit on road course.At least that's what I think.

Then I helped my dad work on an Eclipse RS.I saw how gay it was to work on a FF car and then ever since that day I said to HELL with FF!!!

I looked around for an inexpensive car,MUST BE FR.Sporty.I found the 240SX Fastback.I had also seen the blue Drifter X car and thought it was so purty..And they are shaped kinda like the C5s :thumbsup

I finally found one.The total price-$600.
Had a blown clutch that *ahem*I replaced myself.(I had just turned 17 a few months before)

I'm so Happy now.240SXes are The shit.Maybe someday I'll have a 97 C5 coupe next to my 240sx fastback.

*BTW did anybody ever win the SILEIGHTY in the first GRAN TURISMO?
Also if you check in one of the two booklets that came packaged with the game it talks about DRIFTING.
