The hatch latch is off and I have tried 2 different hatches same results, is the locking mechanism off? And I have pictures but no urls for pictures its not vertically off its horizontally off anyone else seen it before?

the latch can be adjusted a little. you should be able to get it to latch

it is all straight on but the hook does not come out far enough. up and down is not the problem it is like the hatch needs to come out towards the rear more, or the locking mechanism needs to be pushed it but i dont have another to compare it to i think the frame the mechanism bolts to needs to be bent but im not sure (i just got internet hooked up like 10 min ago)

Is latch rusted?
Can you stick a screwdriver in it and make it lock?
If you pull the manual release behind it does it unlock?

If it's anything like a hood, it's a process. Tighten hinges, lower hood, see if it lines up. If it doesn't line up, loosen bolts, move hood the appropriate direction, re-tighten hinges. Repeat...
