hey hey
first of all, found a 240sx , bought it, drove home

1993 nissan 240sx coupe *Ka24de* 170k mile

well the dude who sold it, said it has engine noisy, and i was like Wah?
it my fault, but for the price it a whopper

100 buck is the best whopper i everspent

soo i was wondering if this engine is good enough too be kept, ( my plan are swat something new into this one) while swating this one into my other dead 240sx . any idea would help on money wise !! like rebuilting and stuff

here you go....

also, try a complete tune up and see if that changes anything. oil, oil filter, plugs, wires, dist.cap/ign rotor, and pcv valve. theres more, but as far as the engine is of concern, try this and if it does make a difference, then you got a hell of a deal. if not, im sure you'll be able to find a motor around your area. but yea, start here and see if this helps....

oh and thank you,
yep i finish the tune up! but sadly there still alot of noise,
the comps are 180 on all 4
the timing chain need to be chang / im guessing
idea from around the whole world would help alot

and plus it sound like a truck LOL, weird because my hatch never sound like that! :WTF:

thats a pretty nice knock you got there, if thats what im hearing, the sound quality isnt amazing though but that sounds like a big knock to me, id start with your valve train, though it could be timing chain as well, the tensioner my have broken

and when you say it sounds like a truck what do you mean?

yep, there a knock, but once you drive it there isnt any more knocking, the only problem im having is
finding the problem on the engine, it drive like it brand new, and i tested it on rpm ,
at 4krpm it make a rattle, then stop, soo i know there got to be something wrong with it, and i dont
really want to open it up not knowing what to fix on it.

tensioner? which tensioner? and plus if anything broke would it still be able to drive smooth? because it
still does!
truck meaning it sound like a diesel engine
