i have an sr with enthalpy tune, 550's, z32 maf. Ive had this set up for a while, but only now im running very rich, at WOT on boost black smoke comes pouring out the exhaust. There is no bucking, or hesitating to redline. but the performance is definately suffering a good bit.

The only thing i have checked so far was for a boost leak, and there wasnt one...

any help is apreciated, thank you.

Check fuel pressure regulator, it may be malfunctioning, check timing, it may be too advanced or retarded and not getting a complete fuel burn, and check plug gaps and plug conditions to make sure you're getting efficient spark.

ok, so i redid the timing according to a timing gun, and it seemed to clean up the smoke a good bit, i still have a small amount coming out at WOT, i also checked my fuel pressure, and with the vaccum off the fpr it reads 50 psi and with the vaccum connected it reads 40 psi.

what is the pressure supposed to be set at? (my fpr is stock)

Thank you.

40psi is about right. Good to hear messing with the timing helped a little, i bet you can feel a little more power now. How much smoke is "a little"? Like is it a visible cloud in the rearview mirror or just little puffs comin out at WOT?

Maybe your injectors are clogged, try running a fuel system cleaner or soaking your injectors in carb cleaner (just the tips). Also check the spark plugs, see what they say.

well before the timing was redone it was a fairly thik cloud and now has decreased about 50% so its a bit more than puffs i guess...

ill check on the plugs tomorrow, and also throw some injector cleaner in the tank...

also i don't know anyone local with a wideband and i dont have the cash to buy one, so i cant exactly get that done at the moment.
