If your just learning the best technique would be the e brake. I hope you don't go out on the streets and start pulling your e brake and putting innocent people in danger, go to drift event and practice there. O yeah, im not flaming you or anything but DoNt TyPe LiKe ThiS BeCaUsE PeOpLe HeRe HaTe iT.

 

learn how your car is stock at first. once you get a pretty good feel with the stock car, figure out what you think you need to change to help you out some to do better. stiffer suspesion, lower ride height, more power, lose some weight, whatever. just go to a empty parking lot, try to set up some cones if possible, and go for it. just have fun and get sideways whichever way you feel most comfortable.

 

hmm.. ummm download drift bible from best motoring.. good to know your into the whole sideways thing.. hope you dont do too many crazy things.. yeah you learn techniques from keichi tsuchiya.. the original drift king.. but anyways. he tells you to start practicing spins with beater tires.. try doing some 90 degree turns.. then 45.. then 360.. next you can try doing some controlled donuts.. but yeah.. its all just practice..

get a good feel with your car.. dont buy things that everyone recommends.. just buy things for your preference..

get to love your e-brake by the way.. its your best safety feature.. it can pull you out of tight spots.


oh yeah.. and as for all young kids.. stay calm at all times when you drive.

I dunno about you. But even on a stock Ka you can drift well enough with a little practice. I still have an open diff in my car. Just a matter of weigth balance control and balls. can't do much if you are too scared to kick it out. Anyway. It's all really about the fun of it. Not looking the best cause you know. No matter how good you are, you'll wreck eventaully. I try not to drift on the road. But there are a few corners that are around here that are very wide open so I can tell if ther eis anyone around. heh If there is any soul other than me. my tires stay quiet. The best thing probably to begin with is sway bars.. after driving me car for about a month I switched to some rare trick sway bars. they made alot of difference and made drifting that much more fun. worth teh 200 bucks i think. Sacrifice the drift, not the car. :smacked49

 

this thread is exacty why i rather save my cash and learn about 240's before i spend my dough. or i could be like this guy and buy whats cool at the monent and wrap it around a tree in a week or a light pole

 

If your e-brake sucks, it's because your rear brake pads are shit. Spend some money on things that will help you drift if you really want to do it. Instead you are making your car "look nice". That just shows how much of a drifter you really wanna be.
