what size wheel would be good for a 240 that will some times go to the auto track but mostly just go around the street? is a 17x8 wide enough? i think i'm gonna go with a 17 but how wide should the wheel be...also, what size tire could i fit on that size wheel?...and what offset do i need?

first, ill let you know about the search button that would be located in the top right corner of this page. not trying to be a jackass... just letting u know its there and its handy

second, i would like to get 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the back. offset im not too sure about. there used to be a offset calculator on 240sx.org, but now its all changed around and i cant find it. im sure somehere here has it or can help you with the offset...

id go 17x9 all around. but that's just me.
anyways, so many choices
yo ugotta decide WHAT YOU GONNA DO? track the car? auto x daily drive??
also whats your tire fund. that plays a role in it too!!
good luck!

17x9 +25 is what i do if you have coilovers, or else it wont clear (unless its like apex'i N1, but msot wont clear +30 up front)

i'm thinkin about gettin the gto 4 to 5 lug conversion sold on jspec.com...but they're 450/pr  ...i really wanna get some gold rota battles for my navy blue 240..i think it would like nice and i really like the wheel itself...thinking of getting the 17x7 wheel and puttin some really wide tires on it...it should clear z brakes and coils right?...will this wheel have too much of an offset...i've seen it mostly on subarus...thanks

That wheel will have to high an offset something like 45 or more. The Subs run pretty high offsets so I wouldn't recommend getting them from a sub place. If you want to go the widest possible 8" in the front a 9-10" in the rear. With 9" in the front you will be very hard pressed to get it onto the car unless you went with a 18" wheel. The usual is 17x8" all the way around which is nice for everyday driving and track days and what not. There are so many variables here you should just use the search and see what has been talked about before...Stubby
