wow. if i had a nickel for every post by a new 240sx owner that said they are planning to swap a rb26dett into their car, Then I would be a very rich man.

Im not trying to offend you when i say this but you can not even manage to FIND a ka24de and have no knowledge of how to correctly install the motor if you do find it. The is absolutely no way you are going to have the knowledge that it takes to swap a RB series motor into a s-chassis.

Im pretty sure that when you mention being involved in "supra swaps", you would be the guy that stands around asking stupid questions while your friends actually perform the work.

Like umm... yeah.. so like... any junkyard.. yeah... would have a kade... like for real cheap yeah... probably like umm a couple hundred dollars.. but umm yeah... why not just fix your motor..? It umm sounds like an easy fix... yeah especially with someone as knowledgable (both grammatically and mechanically) as yourself?

This is a great site for info. Do a little searching on this forum. All the info is here. Relax when you post! Try a new radi, water pump, thermo and you should be set. Do the work yourself and you should only be out few hundred bucks.

UM NO I DONT JUST SIT AROUND WEN MY FRIEND FIXES THE CAR. . Iono why always hate on people thats new to 240s and no im not gonna do the rb swap myself. . I wanna do the Ka swap but i dont want to waste my time on fixin the single and just breakin it again. . I just want to know if it would be easy to put in a regular KA twin . . Would i need a new tranny or not??? or new mounts and stuff?? And i never said that i was so experience mechanically im just sayin im know the basic stuff like i know whats wrong with my engine i just dont wanna deal wit it since its a single. .so for all you haters out ther sayin i have bad grammar i dont care this isnt english class and us 18 year old this is how we talk in Vegas so quit hatin.. If i was you guys i would just help the kids out thats new to this car and wat not. .

hahahaha. that is the quote of the year.

I doubt that every teenager in las vegas types text or "talks" like you. Im pretty sure your just one of the under educated students that slipped through the public school system's cracks.

if you want answers about your KA24E to KA24DE read the write up I did on the swap when I complete one some years back.

you can reuse the transmission and the stock mounts. you going to notice that the stock mounts are complete worthless once you pull the engine though.

so your first mistake is ...... why swap in a dohc ? fix the SOHC , (sorry if that was allready coverd ) take the extra grand u woulda spend on a dohc and make the sohc uber quick ..... o yea , and im originally from vegas and i never talked like that .

not trying to be mean or nothing , good luck fixing the problem. and if u want a car that wont give u problems , then u shouldent have bought a 240

wow.. why do you think youll only break the motor once you fix it? and why do you want a DOHC sooo bad? theres only about a 10hp differance from what i read. i say take your 200 and bring it to someone that knows what they're doing and have them fix it. and i suggest cleaning your engine and letting it dry thouroughly and then start the car and look to see where the coolant is coming from...

or just drench the whole engine bay with permatex gasket maker and it will never leak again, and by the way what were you swapping into a supra?, usually they come with the best engine that you can get? or even in the MarkIII's they still had a kick ass 7mgte, anyways i was just wonderin about that, but i hope you learn alot on here.

well the leak is everywhere. it first started from the intake manifold its an antifreeze leak. . Its right by the powersteering right above the alternator. .Its not the hose cuz i checked i was thinking of just changing the whole intake manifold and the throttle body and replacing the water pump and thermostat cuz maybe my thermostat us stuck so my antifreeze doesnt flow to the engine and over heats. . And the reason why i wanna put a dohc cuz im selling this car and just buying a shell for 400 and sell my for 1200 to 1000 so i stilll have 600 or 800 left over and have the money to put a dohc on it. .

and on the supra we did a 7mgte and a 7mge swap. . not necessarily a swap but like replace the motors. . Supra engines is not as complicated as a 240 . . but i like my 240 way better than a supra easier to drive. . even then the MKVI's 1jz but non turbo. . my friend has one and its wack 220 HP and 210 torque not as cool as you think it would be. . well ill try fixin the SOHC and sell it and ill see if i get the shell . . the shell is clean as hell ill get pictures up as soon as i get the other 240. .

^ LOL !!!!

i would start by removing the thermastat. Its a real easy thing to do, and that will instantly let you know if that was the problem.

Take it out, put sealant on the caseing and put it back together. refil with water and start.

If thats not it, Its most likely the water pump. And you should be able to clean and dry the engine so you can find all the leaks.

Sounds like your car has some issues, but its still gonna be easier to fix em than to put a DOHC into the other car. Why do you want to get the other shell so bad??

I wanna get the other shell cuz its better then my shell he has no rust mine has a couple . . interiors better then mine and he is selling his for 500 and if i sell my for 1000 ill have 500 extra to put whatever on the car rather then not having any money at all. .

I hope you have a degree in electrical engineering to try to swap an rb26.

2JZ would net more horsepower and companies make kits for a much easier install.
