Installed new slave and master clutch cylinders but no resistance building up?

1991, noticed it was becoming a pain to drive, my brother who is a mechanic thought it was the slave, so we replace this and its not leaking so we realize its the master, so we replace the master the very next day, we're pumping the shit out of the clutch and bleeding it out for an hour or two, only the slightest pressure was built up.
The clutch doesn't return.

he said there is no leaks thru the lines, we were debating bypassing that secondary box on the bottom (we're guessing maybe its a for cooling???), but we are really at a loss, and any thoughtful suggestions would be appreciated.

regardless of what the problem ends up being, i would definitely bypass that box (the clutch damper). it will improve your clutch feel, make bleeding easier, and make the clutch system require less overall fluid.

something you might want to try is a vacuum hand pump on the bleed valve to prime the line with fluid (forcibly pull it through the line). with a large amount of air in the system it will be difficult to build up enough pressure to bleed it properly without spending all damn day doing it. also double check your installs on the master and slave and be sure the master isn't running out of fluid while you are trying to bleed it!

Take te box out deffinintly, it's worthless. Then just put the pedal on the floor and take out your bleeder screw, fill resoviour with fluid and lift the pedal up and it will start to drain. Then wait 10 seconds and put the screw back in and tighten. That's what I did with mine because it wasn't bleeding right and it worked fine, also try adjusting your adjustment screw on the pedal so it pumps more fluid

Remove the clutch damper....you need to bleed that as well if you don't.
If you remove the damper and still have a problem getting a pedal...adjust the rod that attaches the master to the pedal. If you have it too far in it won't return becuase it's not building enough pressure.
