Compare the diameter of the two shifters' 'little white tip' with vernier calipers. A lot of shifters have removable tips if they are a plastic cup with four slits in them. You might be able to swap them to get it to fit, too. Alignment is tricky; else it won't go in.

 

Tips appear identical, but the interior on the factory is different than the aftermarket so I can't swap them =/

I tried again for about 30 minutes today. No luck. I bought this because my factory shifter felt a little clunky and mostly because I needed that lower rubber boot to seal the transmission from spewing gear lube into the cabin. Sigh.

ah that sucks dude. seems like for the most part that isis stuff is pretty legit for the price but it looks like they still have some problems with a few products.

maybe they'll swap it for a different brand? or just a new one?

Well, I bought it from an online store and he was nice about working with me via Email to get some photos and make sure it was the right one, etc... but when I asked if he could ship a replacement and bill me for it, then I could return this one and get a credit... Nothing ever came of it.

I kind of gave up.

Basically, the plastic piece that swivels around and goes down into the slot was a touch too big or something and wouldn't fit no matter what I did.

 

Maybe try replacing the bushing? Or email him again, they get busy, may have slipped by. *Shrug* Email Isis?

 

I thought about using the bushing from my factory shifter but they are two different sizes so it wouldn't work. I'm not sure why the bushing wouldn't fit though.

Yeah, the Isis kit did not come with any adapters. I had a short shifter on my RB20DET that cost less (Ebay "Atomic" ??) and worked fine. Came with adapter plates etc.

I only bought the shifter because it was about the same price as a replacement lower boot for my factory shifter (which was torn). Problem is, I can't get the isis one on the factory shifter without tearing it. =/
