issues starting my car

so i shall warn everyone first this is not a road car it is a circle track race car. my problem is everytime i go to start it i have to use a shot of quick start! i know this isnt good for the motor but it will not start any other way! anyone ever had this problem. i am aware it culd be soemthing very simple, but i am a truck guy goin racing in this car! thanks guys
