japanese KA24DE

anybody know if there was a KA24DE offered in japan?

my plan was to buy a high mile 91-92 240sx.. and buy a newer ka24de from one of those japanese used engine suppliers.... then later boost. but every supplier i called said they do not carry this engine... i dunno if they really dont have it... or theyre trying to make money.. cause all of then recommended i buy a sr20 also... which i dont want

I don't think the KA was released in Japan, if it was it probably was basicly the same.

it may have camew from a nissan truck in japan but as far as one out of a 240 your out of luk. they only came with the sr's and the CA's.

I believe it came in some minivan, don't remember the name though.

so im presume you are looking for a KA24 right? a good place to call is called Mid-West Engine Sales. great people in Ohio. i got a KA24DE with 32K miles for 950 and 25 dollar freight shipping by Pitt Ohio. and they come with warranty too. i have about 10k miles on mine so far and the thing runs great. just a suggestion, 950 may seem high but they are great engines.

the JDM Ka was released as the KA20......it was a 2 liter but i dont know anything more than that.......by the way i do know that the cranks are interchangeable and the Ka20 crank will destroke the ka to like 2.2.....something liters.
