Well there are many ups and downs to this... first drive.. brakes needed bled more drove slow to drop my cousin off at school.. came back home, fixed brakes and what not, went back to get him.. lemme tell you.. motor is 100% stock.. just with open downpipe.. thats where i get into trouble, i had a "fake" exhaust muffler hung from the end of the car.. but nothing attached, car pulls like a bat outta hell, the feeling is completely overwhelming, it just screams, and mind you i wasnt even going WOT about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, staying around the speed limit, just accelling up to it.. rpms never went over 5 grand, shifts never hard, and omg.. its soo loud, the turbo absolutely screams, the BOV even stock! sounds amazing.. now for the bad.. i live in a town full of rich old people.. drove down one street to get to my work to take my fellow friend and worker for a ride, drive down a back street outta it, staying under 35 mph.. never scretching tires or anything.. yea pretty sure, 5 minutes later, my mom calls me telling me the cops are at our door and they are looking for me they had a complaint of reckless op.. i couldnt believe it.. long story short, dads pissed takes keys.. im pissed and upset with myself for driving it with an open downpipe.. so word of wisdom.. dont do this.. what a night ruiner.. but i tell you, what a hell of a motor, one word.. it screams!

i know this isnt tech question.. just thought it would relate more to the these people than any since most own one.. or are building one, i want to thank everyone that helped me get it running, and also this forum as a whole, for all the reading ive done basically guided me through my swap. thanks guys.

What motor are you running?

When I first got my car running I drove around w/ just my downpipe on got some nasty looks from the neighbors. Eh, I say screw 'em.
rb25, yea i couldnt see there nasty looks, being it was about 9 o clock at night, but im sure they had some, i planned on getting my exhuast made this week somewhere local... meh

Damn I love seeing other Rb owners getting there swaps done (becasue it pumps me up for mine) and I hate seeing other Rb owners getting there swaps done (becasue I been waiting so long im gonna friggin DIE!!!) just kidding, congrats bro. I tell ya though thats one reason I love living in the country no ones gonna give you dirty looks becasue they are all out raising hell in their cars too. :thumbsup
i had a 323gtx with a open down pipe i got alot of tickets with it i miss that car sorry to hear about you loosing your car
an open exhaust rb is def one of the prettiest things to hear
^^ it most definantly is. I recently got done changing out my clutch and got to take her back out open dp and god damn is it awesome.
hell I remember my first ride, no dash, seat wasnt bolted down, the hood was completly off and I was going WOT all over the place. Holy sheit was she loud.
Looking good! I have yet to run my car with an open DP but I might just have to after this thread!
hah yea, it was amazing.. but i got them back today! got my father to understand, and to my likings he brought it up to me and asked when i was going to get exhaust, im getting it made next week, and I invited him to come along, so im happy hes happy, he should enjoy the ride :rotflmao .. and southerclown lol.. i can relate to that.. seats weren't bolted down, no hood, no exhaust, and barely any brakes.. but i had to get my cousin to wrestling practice! lol the looks on peoples faces as i rolled up... priceless.
shockster did you use mckinney mounts top hat or the r33 crossmember
Mckinney Mounts, they are awesome!
oh good i cant wait for my shit ...
i should be picking it up in a couple weeks.. (about 2)
then i should have the motror in that same week.

i just need a Downpipe, driveshaft and aQ45 MAFand its done..

Whippie !
man that kinda brought a tear to my eye i need to get my $..T together dam:eek3dance
wow.. makes me think of my first test drive ... everything bolted down lol all stock, with 240sx exhaust bolted up... putted it slow to gas station and filled with 91 .. car kept cutting out and gradually like gaining speed and sputtering.. after about 30 minutes of driving around cruising the streets and a few freeway runs it all cleared up .. when i had pressure washed the clip and cleaned motor before the swap that i did in 3 days, water had like settled under the coilpack cover.. once all that moisture and water steemed away .. it was full throtle pulling... it was great i must admit.. i opened up ehxaust and put a fmic with 13 psi boost and it sounds like a fricken jet or a street bike. i bolted exhaust back up after dyno .. but my plans are 3 inch turbo outlet 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch electric cutout that bolts to stock exhaust .. so im quite when i want to be and loud when needed.

Heh! try to avoid this, its a quick way to destroy coilpacks :D
