Ka Throttle issue?

Alright i'm stumped :( i wake up today, at like 6:30am, get in my car and drive about 2 miles down to my girls house. Car is running strong as fuck. I've had no problems with the car since i got it back a few months ago from the shop. I bring my girl to the hospital for an dr appointment. we leave about 20 minutes later and my car is running like shit, i'll be in any gear, maybe a 1/4 throttle and it'll keep pulling then it'll act like i'm not even on the throttle.. and then it'll go back to normal.. it's annoying the fuck out of me.. :( I noticed while i was at my buddies shop after the hospital, that some how the thick white wire that gets bolted onto the alternator from the fusebox, is burnt to fuck.. I'm confused as to how that can even happen... but my car isn't just running off battery power, because all my interior lights are all bright as they were 5 days ago. Also my car usually idles at like 800rpm, and today it's idling at an even 1000rpms. If anyone has any idea, Please let me know. i'm at my girlfriends house, and i'm not sure if my car is going to even make it home..(Not that i dont mind being here all day(; ) but i'd like to know that if i need to fix it here, i can. Let me know asap please!!!!:gaah:

Pump? Clogged filter?
Do a full check up of the car, spark plug, fuel filter, etc...
I would check the voltage of your battery with the car off, then with the car on. See the difference in the voltage so you know how much voltage the alternator is putting out. My bad alternator caused sputtering at random times like that. It seemed to act up after I would drive and let the car sit then drive again.

Yeah, That's what my shit is doing. I'm going to try and find a replacement wire that burnt up some fucking how.. and check my voltage. I hope it's just this wire that's not letting enough current thru to keep the car up to par.
