one came on my rb20 clip as well, there is no difference i can tell between it being plugged in or unplugged

We did take it down to a dealer, but there aren't any actual part numbers that the guy could find.

it's your dropping sensor / resistor (what ever you want to call it).

i unplugged mine and it wouldnt start without it, so i reckon it should be there.

 

Now that we know what it does, where does it go? Both the car and the resistor are about 10 miles away from me right now since it's not mine.

 

It's a dropping sensor. It's for Auto tranny. Not sure why you would have it unless your sr20 is automatic

my s14 was auto and that was in the engine bay. when i did the sr swap, i removed it.

 

yah thats for the auto tranny. its supposed to make shifting smoother. I had it on my 240 when mine was auto but i unplugged it so it would shift a little faster... its located over by the intake box. Mine is long gone tho.

no its not an ignitor chip

 

ignitor chip is black... go google what that looks like
