ok my motor recently blew and i just purchased another KA24DE with 90k on it...new clutch , resurfaced flywheel and distributer cap...the blown ka is still in the 240 and i do not have an engine hoist until the weekend

so what things should i get started on while i cant pull out the engine?

like take off hoses , unbolt things , etc...

what should i be doing in the meantime until the weekend??

^ he has a new motor. so theres no need to take it apart. just undo all the electrical, hoses (heater, rad, ect.) unbolt the tranny mount and motor mounts, take out rad, fans, and take off your exhaust mani. you can just pull the motor and tranny out all together. then seperate it. its easier that way IMO.

^^ thats why your a newb... realistically it would be easier for you to pull the motor and tranny and look at what you have between the motors and just make one good motor from the both . Personally i have an easier time switching trannies when the motor is pulled as opposed to when im under the car

I dont understand why u called him a newb. for one because u even use the word says that ur a video game"Pro" and play at least 2 hrs a day which denotes loser/Immature. the guy, who evedently does his own work, asks viable questions and u attack him. well as goes 4 tips, if ur pulling the motor might as well replace stuff & clean ur bay

Pulling the tranny from the engine while the engine is bolted in isn't too bad. The upper bolts are a pain in the ass to reach though, I was lucky I had my head pulled when I was getting those bolts off, it made it MUCH easier. Bolting the tranny back up while you're under the car is a whore though; I'm assuming thats the part you don't like Mr.180sx hah

i just took apart all the hoses and electrical...guess what i found...my brake booster line was like cut in half or something , like a scissor got to it...but its not noticable unless u pull on it...do u think this affected performace in my 240 when it was running?

Like everyone says, pull the god damn transmission with the engine. Not only is it quicker, but it also makes it easier to install the new clutch and flywheel.

ok so i got under the car...it doesnt look all that difficult to remove those 10 bolts for the tranny...with the downpipe removed it should be pretty simple except for those 2 on top...
