Hey guys

I bought my first 93 240sx fastback automatic a couple of months ago and the engine blow up. I bought a parts car with a 92 ka24de (also an automatic). Swapped it last weekend and it fired right up, but it was shaking bad at idle. We thought it was missing so we tried wiggling the 3rd spark plug wire and the engine died and now it wont start. It has spark in every cylinder, all the injectors work. I'm not sure what the problem could be because it fired right up and was running for a minute or so then died.

the distributor buddy ,check to see if its correctly set. let us know what happens

So would that be a timing problem? and would that explain the shaking?

You probably turned the distributor when you wiggled the plug wire moving it out of correct time.

yes it drops the rpm too much and the car starts to run very harsh almost running out of air sometimes even turning off. just get someone to crank the car while you move the distributor slowly and it should turn on

Good description of it. Or have someone mechanical pull the cap off and reorient the dizzy to the #1 cylinder.

It turns out that it was the dizzy and it wasn't producing a strong enough of spark. Replaced. Runs great.
