ka24e sohc distributor

Hey guys so i recently just got a 1990 240sx and it has the ka24e sohc and i have a question about the crankshaft position sensor. I ordered a replacement for the car from oreilleys and went to install and pulled out the old one and it has smaller pins and plug on different side of distributor its a mitsubishi j912 crank position sensor. i cannot figure out what this distributor is for so i can call and order a new sensor. If anyone knows please help thanks!
