Baring running straight header or a custom setup. What would be the loudest exhaust you could put on a SR20DET equipt 240sx ??

I have heard that the Apex N1 is loud as hell but I was wondering what other options where out there.

Thanks

BEFORE I GIVE YOU ANSWERS I NEED TO EXPRESS OPINION

Exhaust noise is SHIT, if you got power you got engine noise. Thats why V8s are loud. Plenty displacement. Exhaust noise is the most annoying thing because its just airy and high pitched form imports.

The loudest I have heard idle is a Blitz Nurspec, its idle is loud as asian porn stars screaming. N1 is the super muffler because every damn civic boy loves how it sounds. Most people get the tip by the tone rather then the loudness. The HKS is a loud blow off, but people get the blitz because its more airy and whoosh then pizts.

I personally love the greddy evo exhaust cuz its the most silent. How can you guys enjoy driving on the free way if your exhaust is loud, starts to annoy me to shit.

I have a Apexi N1 dual with a free flow cat and it's loud as hell!!! but I don't have a turbo yet (KA24DE) and I haven't even installed my hotshot headers yet. Hope that helps a little, probably doesn't.

When I bought my 240 the former owner had put on headers and a Bosal Brospeed Dual-Tipped(3.5inches each) Exhaust... I can set off car alarms and the nice thing is it doesnt have a ricer sound, it has a very intimidating growl to it. The only bad thing is after driving for a while it really starts to get you, certain pitches will get your passengers screaming at you to shift gears or turn it off, I've even had friends whose ears popped and everything was muffled until i turned off the car. Very very nice exhaust.

muffler

i have a high flow cat, and custom bend pip from ther back cutting every thing out all the way to the muffler, i run a sebrings standard universal and i get a nice low non ricey rumble that gets crazy loud when you get you foot in it, only problem is i loose a lot of low end trq cause of loss in back pressure, its a nice set up that didnt cost a lot grand total $200 a full day and a pack 6 corona

Apex GT Spec. 3.75 inch (95 mm) piping. that thing is going to be loud
i got that on my car (no SR yet) and its not loud at all, its verry deep and sounds real good, i wanna trade it out though cause the piping is too big for the KA and i lost power :( ( a 90 kept up with me and i have intake and exhaust DOHC vs. his stock SOHC) and th epiping goes to 4" after the resonator

Okay, IMO, if you buy an exaust system based on the way it sounds then i would classify you as a ricer...
I disagree...when I was looking for exhaust, I wanted something that wasn't going to sound like a honda or a bumble-bee. But buying off of loudness is ricey IMO. I ended up with the gp sports spec d pro. Has a nice smooth sound most of the time, but there is some bad resonance just past 3k rpm, and I can't hear music or people talking. Below 3k it sounds pretty nice, but over all it is loud. Hopefully turbo will make it more bearable. It does have this turbo-like whoosh noise because of the way the silencer is designed (like a pinwheel). I should buy one of the n/a blow-off valves to accomodate it....:D

When it came time to buy my exhaust for the 240 I wanted to go with a reputable exhasut such as Blitz or Apexi, but when that time came .... no money. But i had to buy one because the old stock exhaust was shot. I bought some Pasesetter headers and went 2.5 inch pipe straight back to a Ravin Z-33 muffler. (www.goravin.com) I'm guessing that not to many people have heard of it .... well thats because (I hate to say it) I bought it a Midas. It was cheap and not restricting at all. Now, I can set of alarms from a street over and when I pull up to the line, I'm told that you cannot hear if the apposing car is reving there engine or not. :D Even those little honda's with a huge cannon of a muffle cant be heard.

For me its the best thing. The muffler doesnt look all that great but my 240 is a little rough around the edges too. A sleeper you can feel leave the line. My latest victums have been Cameros, and i love seeing there facial expressions change when I bring the rpm up to 4000.

My thoughts on exhaust is to get whatever you want but make sure its wide open.

Heh, ive heard of them. I saw them when I was at Midas a year or so ago. Nothing can be as bad as a Cherry bomb muffler.
Kinda off subject - My dad has a glass pack (same as cherry bomb I believe) on his Nissan Pickup with the KA and you can't hear it at all. It made no change in the loudness of the exhaust. :12dunno All of the loudness on his truck came from removing the stock intake piping.
