Why drop the boost to 5psi? Thats lower then stock even. I run around on 14lbs everyday and I just keep the boosting to a minimal (keep my foot out of the throttle, boost stays under 8-9psi) and I still get 21mpg. In my opinion I think its dumb because it's just as easy to just not floor it everywhere you go.

i was just wondering, ive got the SR sittin in my garage right now torn apart. Putting all new internals, seals, bearings etc inside before i install the motor. I just didnt know what would happen, ill just run it at 15psi and stay out of it. Any ideas what 15psi would put out for hp?

If your car is tuned and makes 300+ hp at 15psi, you have more fuel as well. Turning the boost down from 15 to 5psi, wouldnt affect your fuel just boost. So you would be driving around running insanely rich.

Worst case, your car runs really rich... coats the cylinder walls in fuel, heating them and warping your rings, burning your engine up...

I dont think its a good idea...Just run it with 15psi and granny it aroudn town.

Do you know how mass air flow sensors work or have you heard of oxygen feedback systems?

Turning down the boost on your car will make it slower. Period. Thats it! You'll just make less power, get probably better gas mileage and won't spank that civic. You won't run crazy rich, because fuel delivery is dependent on air flow. Flow less air, and the ecu will compensate and squirt less fuel, they are not independent as stated. There is NO downside to turning the boost down except for that you make less power, the stock ECU can handle that just fine.

thank you zads ^ lol if your car was making enough fuel for 300whp, at 15 psi and you turned the boost down to 5psi and it kept the fuel the same as it was for 15 your car most likly wouldnt even run lol. thats not how it works at all...

but back to the topic. i dont think you can even run 5psi with stock setup, you can only go as low as your wastegate will allow you and i think thats about 7psi... but like said above, i can seriously drive everywhere with my boost at 14psi, and hit the max of about 2psi. its very easy to stay out of boost, the boost doesnt automaticly go up with rpms, it goes on how your putting your foot to the pedle.. youll see when you drive yours for the first time.... goodluck
