all these motors are the same series sorta. parts are interchangeable for the most part between all but the ls7. i think they are working on that though, my info may be a little out of date.

ls1 is 5.7
ls2 is 6.0
ls6 is 5.7 z06 motor
ls7 is 7.0 z06 motor
lq series is 4.8(iron or aluminum block),5.3 (iron or aluminum block), or 6.0 (iron or aluminum block)

there is a new 6.6, but i think thats not the same series, i think its considered a big block.

ps, i like american muscle too.
The donor cars for these motors would be

Ls1 5.7 93-07 Version 1 camero firebird (SS had more power) 275-305hp
Ls1 5.7 98-02 Version 2 camero firebird (SS had more power) 285-325hp depeding on model and year
Ls2 6.0 97-02 corevette / 05+ GTO motor? 400hp
Ls7 new Z06 motor 06+ corvette 500hp
Ls6 5.7 04 GTO motor and corvette z06 350hp

Pre 93 5.0L LT1

Fuck all the V6 models lol

Am I right on these figures?

no, you're not.
93-97 was lt1
98+ was ls1 till the end of the f body's
ls1 was in vettes till 02ish, not sure about vette's completely
ls2 is in 02+ vettes (non z06)
ls6 is the first z06 motor, well not the first but the first modern z06
ls1 was 04 05 gto, ls2 was 06 gto
ls7 is new z06

the lt1 is a 5.7 or 350, not 5.0
the ls1 is a 5.7
the ls2 is a 6.0
the ls6 i forgot, but i think its a 6.0
the ls7 is a 7.0

it should be an fairly easy swap, the LS7 is set up the same as the LS1 and they make kits for that.
no, its not the same setup. there are lots of differences, but just for arguments sake, ill throw this one out. when you figure this problem out, you can move onto the next.

the ls7 uses a dry sump oiling system. lots of parts involved.

Hey Check out www.hinsonsupercars.com They have kits for s13's and s14's and RX-7'S to drop in LS6 AND 7 motors. I considered it because I work at a Cadi dealership and we often pull LS7 motors from CTS-V's that customers want to replace with mail order strocker motors and other customers blow the motors and don't have the mone to fix them go figure you buy a $65,000 toy and then can't afford to repair it cause warranty won't cover it. Well I hope that web site helps.!!!
no you dont. cts-v's dont have ls7's.

actually i already have an ls7 motor pretty much brand new i pulled it of and brand new crashed corvette thats why im asking its pretty much the whole front clip. my uncle spunn out and spilt the car pretty much in half. the car still started up but the back is gone lol

so let me get this straight.

your uncle went out and bought a brand new z06 for $60k+.
he crashed it to the point where its totalled. the insurance company didnt take it, so i guess he paid in full for it and didnt have full coverage, or he did the buy out, which is still gonna be loot.
now hes giving?

does he not like you?

cause i know if i spent 60k on a car, and i crashed it like that and almost died, i would not give the engine to my nephew. not to mention the monetary problems with your story.

now that im done with all that.

if by chance i did have a ls7, i would sell it.

then i would take the money from that, and use it to cover the cover the whole cost of a ls1/2 swap into a s13, and then take said s13 to bk and get a value meal with what was left over.
