Just curious what color wire did you guys splice into when you wanted the guages to light up when you turn on the dash lights? There is light 8 coming from the dash light/head light switch

I spliced into the black wire with the white stripe comming from the ignition switch. Hope this helps.

you can use the radio harness too.

I would also like to know how exactly you hook up the gauges to a source that comes on when you turn on your lights. Do I just take off the steering column cover and find the black/white wire that leads to the blinker/headlight lever?

use the power harness for the radio. iirc its a yellow/green wire. one side to that, one side to ground.

If you guys want splice into the harness that lights up the ash tray, their is a little bulb their. Also you can splice into the harness that controls the light bulb for the glovebox.

I got tired of all the wiring, so just decided to combine power wire of my gauges with light bulb wire. and then I just ran the wire off my Headunit power wire, yeah the gauge lights are on all the time but you can't really tell during the day time. All I need to do now if to run the sending wire from Water temp gauge to the radaitor hose inlet, I saw this adapter piece on www.splparts.com that I might get.

How did you guys hook-up your Water temp sending unit?

aluminium hose adapter in the top radiator hose and ran the wires from the sensor through the firewall.
