Its come time for a brake upgrade on my 91 240sx. The stock rotors and pads are shot and the power is way to much for a stock braking system. This is what I was thinking but im having some issues with finding what I need in searches... I want to do the 300zx calipers since i can get them for a fairly cheap price. Im currently running a 4 lug 15" Enkei Racing wheel which i know will allow caliper clearance when it comes to caliper width. My problem is which rotor to go with and clearance issues. I was thinking a Project Mu rotor made for a late 80's model non turbo 300zx, which if i remember correctly came in 4 lug or so i remember seeing at the junkyard....i hope. i believe that particular rotor if im not mistaken came in 4 lug, is slightly bigger (by 1"), than the OEM 240 rotor. so with that in mind will a 300zx turbo caliper with a 300zx nonturbo rotor clear a 15" wheel if its at all possible?

anyone have any other brake upgrade options with atleast a 4 piston caliper that will clear 15" brakes with out going rotora, wilwood, or Brembo, as they are a little out of my price range for a kit.

ok so what should i do about an upgrade caliper? and clearance issues with
15" wheels? i dont want to spend an ungodly amount of money on a 4 piston caliper for just the front of my car, nor will the stock calipers do my cars power any justice as i've already figured out under hard braking situations.

you're really limiting your options with brakes by sticking with 15" wheels. Pretty much your only option is getting z32 brakes and just having the rotor re-drilled for 4-lug.

Upgrading to 16" wheels would open up many new choices such as upgrading to skyline GTR brakes, supra brakes, or q45 brakes

i just got my wheels a week or two ago for a steal of a deal, plus i love them . since i've never seen them on another car i dont want to get rid of them. im just trying to see what options i have as far as upgrading the stock brake set up. i may go with redrilling 300zx rotors and giving that a shot. any other options?

Well, tough shit. Braided SS brake lines, good pads, and a tissue for your tears.

id try maybe the z32 30mm rotors are only 11 inchs and 4 piston pre cailper they should clear depening your back space if not wheel spacers will work read this its anything you wanna know about them http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm the q45 are 11 inch rotors and the cailpers are different so they clear most rims
