You will need to pull your cd player, there should be a a/v plug in the back (little plug with a metal sleeve and 1 metal rod in the middle). You will need to get an a/v cord all the way to your trunk and plug it into your sub. Crossover, i believe, is a device that seperates diffrent frequency sounds to their corresponding speakers: E.G. Subs recieve only low frequency sounds because they don't play high frequency sounds well, the higher frequency not used by the sub will increase the power of your higher frequency speakers. Simply, it will send more power to your smaller speakers, but you don't need to worry about these unless you are going for show quality sound, the sound comeing out of your a/v cord will only be powering the amp. If you didn't get an amp kit with all the really low gauge power wires you should probably go get one. Make sure when your installing it you wrap every open wire, especially the power cords with ALOT of electrical tape, try not to have any spliceing/joining of wires going on.
