It's been awhile but I've finally got back to writing a new guide for everyone who wanted to remove their clutch damper system but didn't know how it was done.

The Garage Guides: Removing the Clutch Damper

Feedback welcome.

Awesome. Did all s13/s14's come with clutch dampeners or just some?
As far as I know, all manual transmission 240sx's S13 and S14, SOHC and DOHC came with the damper system. If for some reason your car doesn't have one and you didn't remove it, then either:

1. Previous owner removed it
2. Your car was swapped from auto to manual
3. Maybe you have a different car and you're on the wrong forums LOL

OMG! thanks SO MUCH DUDE! i just finished doing it.. everything went great, except it took like.. 2 hours. the 10mm open wrench wasn't gripping right and it balded the screw and there was only 1 sweet spot where it turned the screw. other than that everythings great. greatly appreciated. keep doing write ups yo. heh

For some of you that have problems with the hardline bolt there is a simple way of getting it loose. You will need a locking set of visegrips and you will simply clamp down on the nut and use a hammer to tap it loose. Flare nut wrenches aren't that god for stuck bolts. And don't worry about crushing the bolt with the vise grips it will hold up fine until it comes loose...

I wanna do this, but I have nobody to help me bleed the system once I get everything removed.
I bleed all my brakes/clutches by myself and have never introduced air into the system. All you need is a some clear tubing (preferrably silicone) to hook up to the bleed screw.

Just make sure that immediately where the tubing connects to the bleed screw, the tubing is higher than the bleed screw for at least 6 inches of tubing. The more tubing you can raise above the bleed screw, the better.

When you press the clutch/brakes, make sure you hold it at the bottom for a short while to allow any air bubbles to go to the top of the fluid in the tubing, then pump again. You'll have to check periodically to make sure your container doesn't overflow and that your master cylinder doesn't run low on fluid.

Also, I performed this mod but didn't notice any difference whatsoever either. I guess it will make future clutch fluid bleeding faster, but clutch fluid shouldn't need to be changed often.

i did this today
very straightforward,
i have 2 240's right now
i have a ss clutch hose in my good one thats also the one i removed the dampener system from, if i walk between the two and feel the clutch pedals there is no contest i can vouch for this mod.
