Today is the day im trading my hardly running 95 vw gti (swapped 2.9l) for a 92 s13 coupe with a red top placed in er...

only problem with the red top is that its lifters are ticking reallll bad. i am new to nissan and what not, but from what ive read is that red tops oil pumps have like no clearance and when the pan is dented the head gets barely any oil to it?

i know that red tops dont have vvt so that couldnt be one of the reasons...

i guess i just need some advice on what it could be? other than getting no oil to the head..:thumbsup

if there is no oil getting to the head still you really need to get that fixed before ever driving the car. a greddy pan is nice for not denting as its a over sized cast pan with baffeling, it keeps oil at the pump!
The pump may need changed too.

even if all of that is fixed already, the lifters will not bleed themselves out. You will have to remove them and bleed them by hand. Place them in a bowl of engine oil and pump them by hand. There are write ups on how to do so.
