It is possible, it is very time consuming to do cleanly. I did the swap on a 89, but I had the luxury of having a wrecked parts car. The door harnesses are different from year to year, I do not know what the differences are, but Nissan does give different part numbers.
You will need to get from the power car
1. door solenoids (located inside the door, below the latch)
2. Door wiring harnesses
3. Door lock timer (located behind the ECU. It is a back box that has 1 harness
coming out of it. The end
of the harness has a blue 6-pin plug)
4. Door regulator assemblies and roll up mechanisms (grab the black box too in the
drivers door right about
where your elbow rests)
5. Ignition relay and circuit breaker (these are attached to the back side of the
interior fuse block. The ignition relay is the top ono, I think it is blue. Power cars
will have two circuit breakers, nonpower will have only one. They sit right below
the ignition relay, they are black, grab the second one down).
6. It is best to pull the dash out of the power car to see the dash wiring harness.
The door harness will have 2 plugs connecting to the dash harness on the drivers
side connecting to the dash harness and 3 on the passenger. If you what a nice
clean conversion grab the BLUE plugs from the dash harness (one on the drivers
side and 3 on the passengers side. I pulled all the wires out of the dash harness
to make it very clean, meaning I didn’t cut the wires).
**Side note: You can remove the connections from the plugs with out damaging them. Your will have to pop off the back on the plug. then looking from the connection side you can see a small clip (inside the plug) that is holding the connector tight, there are special tools for this (and will make it easier), but you can use a paper clip, pick or a small flat headed screwdriver.** Ok back to the dash Harness
The nonpower car will not have the blue plugs in the dash harness. The white plug (one one each side, I think they are a 12 pin) are the same plug on the power car vs. the non power car...but the non power car will not be using all of the pin locations, of course the power car will.
At this point get a FSM and start studying the wiring diagrams. It took me about 20-25 hours to do the swap (this included the power mirrors). But this was making the wiring look like it was completely factory. A ton of time could be saved if the plugs were cut and everything was soldered or butt connected.
I hope this helps a little
