ok, ive been looking at many many questions on the internet about powersteering removal. Some say do it, some say dont. Is it that bad to not have it if your driving less than 40 mph or is it different for each person? Im wanting to know the advantages and disadvantage to removing PS. Im not planning on drifting anytime soon fyi guys. So let me know anything about this scenario. I know alot of you probably do drive without it and some dont so i want to hear from both sides. Thanks and god bless.

Ok, so you're not drifting. Why do you want to remove it?
To free up space in the engine bay to work with.
I've been thinking about removing my ps, but I don't know the size of the belt I need after I remove it.
If anything don't the drifter nutjobs want to keep power steering? I mean those guys actually add PS coolers and such on the reg don't they?

My own experience with not having PS is that its really not that big a deal if you're moving a small amount when turning the wheel. Only parallel parking is a real bitch, the rest is managable, and once at speeds over 20mph you don't really notice it at all. -- That said, I'm glad my PS in my S14 still works.
Some do some don't. When you remove it you get a more direct feel of whats happening cause well there's no assistance. If it ain't broke don't fix it. aka Leave it be...
Well, i think it is broken 240KID. Read the post i made about it boiling. I think i posted it here. Thats why i posted this thread. I get assistance to nothing at all sometimes.

Don't see anything mentioned about boiling...
When does it occur? Are you driving it hard?
It's a common thing due to it's design.
It happens when the car starts and warms up. I drive hard alot and that seems to stop it.
I meant here as in the forum not the thread.
I say just leave it before you start turning into those honda guys taking of everything for weight reduction

lol SO TRUE!!!!!
whats wrong with hondas?I know if its done right a hatch can wipe its ass with a 240sx with a 2jz,ls1 etc. Yall dont have to beleive me for that. Just ask my buddy who just beat an ls1 turbo last night.
Nobody. Cares.
It was a comment on the common trend in honda/acura for weight reduction, not how quick your buddies car is.
removing power steering doesn't give you any significant extra room in the engine bay. So why? If your pumps going, then go to a junkyard and pick on. My last 240 didnt have p/s and I hated it.
