We need years, what motors, mods to the civic, tire size, and whether they are autos or standards. My guess would be about 10 hp, but I don't know for sure. Intake really doesn't give you any hp, its more that you get quicker response. And the only way to find out if he can beat you is to run him. I know my single cam KA can take a stock non-vtec civic, but like I said we need info.

Oh ya... my bad. I wasnt asking if i could win. I know I can beat him. But its a 95 SE just the KA. I thought for sure it would eb more than 10 hp. Idk though. The intake runs all the way into the bumper. Its not just a short ram. But ya, its not a big deal. I was just curious

Intakes from what I have heard don't really improve hp ratings, just throttle response. But i could be wrong on that.

 

he just means that if you put your stock intake on and dyno it, it will give you a number, then put your intake on, and you will get another number... find the difference, and thats what you gained.

My guess is that you would beat him...as long as you can drive. Hondas are/can be awesome... it just seems to be a trend with the really young owners (yes, my age) that think a civic economy sedan with an intake/ignition/exhaust is the fastest thing in the world, NEXT TO VTEEEEEC, and I hate that.

Anyway, not dissing on anything except the honda owners that think their car is the fastest thing on the planet. They can be awesome, and there are plenty of them that are faster than my 240 will ever be.

So just go race him!!!

Anyway, I will give a +1 on the fact that ive never really noticed an intake giving any power... DEF. better throttle response, but as far as power, eh.

As far as a NA ka (assuming you have a 91+) an intake, and full exhaust (I still have the stock header, high flow 2.5 cat, and 2.5" exhaust, and a few other random mods) I dont ever go out specifically to race on the street... But lets just say ive ran into sohc civic's that are running a basic boost setup, and tons of crx's and other civics with a full exhaust/intake, and I can still pull on them just fine.

once again... you should beat him, so just go do it!

 

ya. well. i dont have access to a dyno so.... but i was just lookin for estimates or people that have done the same thing or whatever. but ya, ill kill him for sure!!! ha

 

you should just NOT race him, because kids street racing/getting tickets/wrecking is why people think everyone that owns an import is an idiot teenager, therefore making police hassle us, and our insurance rates go up. if you are going to race him, just sell the 240 and buy del sol, then run into a pole.

Edit: i just realized you said it was done on a track, so good for you. but my rant stays, be good on the streets so i dont have to pay so much for insurance
