How accurate is the temp gauge from the 13 dohc cluster with the rb25det? I swapped it all a year ago and have recently noticed it up to the 2nd notch which i believe is the highest ive seen it. what was really alarming though is that if it's idling it goes down below the lowest tick mark and will never exceed that.. so is my motor overheating or what?
the stock temp gauge sucks. get an aftermarket one. it stays in the middle throughout at WIDE range of temps. if it goes any higher, your getting pretty hot.
so do you think it's ok in the meantime? i have a water temp gauge and oil temp gauge to install. just worried in the meantime. the only driveability difference is that it feels like the clutch slips at 4000 rpm. i've replaced the coolant twice now. the electric fans work. new radiator.. i'm cautious.
If you have the water and oil then you're ok for awhile.
