Ok so its been about 7,000 miles since my full rebuild/turbo upgrade. Over the past 2 months the rear main is leaking more and more from the little cut out in the tranny where it meets the engine. Especially when im high boosting and redlining the bitch. I know the problem is becuase i did NOT grease the brand new seal when i installed it during the rebuild. :smacked49 :crazyrant :tears

Here is my Q for you guys that remember or not becuase i dont. -After i remove the transmission, i can just pull the old seal and reinstall the new one without removing the "rear oil seal retainer" right?? Im pretty damn sure i can but i just cant remember.:12dunno

I just did my rear main. You should be able to get the rear main out without pulling the retainer. I wanted to pull the retainer on mine so that required me to also remove the aluminum upper oil pan also to get it out.

ive got a oil leak out the same little cut out. Except my engine oil never drops and i just checked my tranny fluid today and it was overfilled some.
Over filling it can cause a seal to pop. It happened to my boss's 300zx. Sucks :nono .
