i am slowly starting the build of my 240. I only have every other weekend to work on this if i don't have anything else to do. I managed to find two hours today to start pulling off parts to remove the KA.

if you use the r32 crossmember with the stock rb mounts the rb20 fits good with couple of inches between firewall and block. the rb25 with r32 crossmember you have to beat the firewall in for the starter to clear, BUT if you use the mckinney mounts with the rb25 you dont have to beat it in but clearance is tight from what i have read in older threads.

in other words you'll have plenty room to route wires, vac lines, etc.

I bought a complete 300zx sub frame. I 'll throw up some pictures of that tonight when i get off work.
And i plan on buy jack stands tonight. Never have i had a problem with using those blocks. Put a small piece of rubber between each block and it absorbs weight and what not. I have had two different jack stands collapse while my car was on them.

i should have done a rb20.
The rb20 can deliver the limit power your chassis will handle with out bankrupting your wallet.
Most rb25 and rb26 can't put down the power these engines produce. Not with out big cash flow.
I had this problem.Still have it specially on cold nights and cold tires.

my end goal is a reasonable 350whp or in the range.

I couldn't find the time to take pictures of the 300z sub frame. I will take pictures of the frame and the motor coming out and out of the car. I am rather excited to get this motor out and clean/paint/clean engine bay. I am hoping for a purple engine along the lines of this.

I plan to paint valve cover black with purple lettering and spark cover purple black tubing purple accessories such as BOV WASTE GATE AFPR minor items such as those.

Thanks for the positive input Radiant.

Here is a picture of the 300zx sub frame and a picture of the empty engine bay. I forgot to take pictures while pulling the motor, just got excited to have it out.

I took a full can of brake cleaner and a rag to the engine bay. cleaned up decently. Not nearly clean enough though. :)

here is quick update I have decided to go with a rb25 instead of the rb20. we all want that extra power :)
I should be picking up some powder coated 300zx calipers and rotors soon. But having my limited schedule no time to wrench the car lately. :(
Also i hope to have to the car running good for Branson Z fest which is May 31st but i will be leaving in the car weekend before if all goes well.
