Hey, i just got a 95 240 yesterday and i wanna take off all the emblems..reason being no one in my area (pickering, Ontario has a 240 and i rather keep people guessing, How do i take them off and are there any holes under the front and back ones?
Be careful with a heat gun too...I bought a nice new one a couple months back and when I was taking my emblem off (they are plastic) it started to melt and the glue caught on fire. :help oopssx gyrl 97 said:I removed my rear ones with a heat gun..make sure you get it really hot or you are going to have an awful time getting the residue off and can end up scratching your paint off...i didnt know about the dental floss but I used a blade..which took me awhile to use since I didnt want to damage the paint. Bumper sticker removal crap works too..spray some on once you get most of it off and then use a towel.
good answer :aka47DSC said:The rear emblems are the only ones you can take off w/out holes.
The "240sx" on the left and "SE" or "LE" if you have that on the right.
These emblems can be removed by using a heat gun or a hair dryer to heat the glue behind them, then using a peice of string or dental floss and sliding it back and forth behind the emblem. This gently cuts the hot glue away from the emblem.
After they are off you will have to use sap/tar remover (goo gone or goof off work well) to remove the leftover glue.
Once all the glue is off, wash and wax the area where the emblems were.
The front (NISSAN) and rear (NISSAN) emblems are held in by screws and maybe glue as well. I wouldn't remove these if I were you.
To have a clean look.killa240 said:not to like make anyone mad, but why remove the stuff?
Yup, I with you also.....I did the same thing. But I left the "SE" emblem in place.Doriftomodachi said:Me ashamed? No way! I left the rear Nissan emblem on. I removed the front one to put the Silvia "S" badge on and I removed the rear "240sx" emblem to put the "Silvia" badge on.
I still have yet to get the Silvia grill and side "K's" emblems.
