just wondering if anyone has had any experience rebuilding rotary engines? there is a ad in my newspaper for a 89 rx7. it says "great body, new tires, clean title, $1000." im guessing that if its that cheap, it has a blown engine and i should jump on it. my dad likes to have us rebuild our first cars, so we respect it and so we know it. i thought this would be a great experience for my brothers first car... and for me and my dad.

just wondering if anyone has ANY knowledge about difficulty or whatever. i have no clue about them and my dad had never seen one period until he looked at the rx8 the other day. thanks for any help.

i have some experiance in working and rebuilding rotary engines mainly the 13b that was availible in the 2nd gen RX-7 (FC3S) They are fairly easy to work with in my experiance because it only uses two rotors. If you need any help in rotary rebuilding questions..feel free to ask me..:p or i can direct you to some great links that will get you started.

They are easier to work on despite what everyone says because it has fewer moving parts.

Oh yeah, watch out for that apex seal, because thats usually the first thing to go if your car isnt tuned properly.

oh yea one more thing

The prices they are negotiable::::::::::street port 12a should run 1500 installed if you want a stock motor be about 500 non installed. the swap was cake in my friends 1stgen a 2nd gen alittle more difficult b/c the went f/injected. as far as turbo2 parts my boy has the turbo the bov and the manafolds no piping if the price is right he might sell it. if you got a non turbo 2nd gen the turbo parts go right on. any questions hit me up.
