So a S14 AT speed sensor will work in S14 MT and read right

the difference is just between S13's and S14's right
no wrong the auto sensor will not work on the 5 speed - it will fit but will not read correct. that info is the same for the s13 and s14
and you can not use the s13 sensor on the s14 or vise versa :thumbsup
 
gr8 write-up......ima about to do a trans swap in my 93 240sx in about a month....i have almost all the stuff....i got the trans 100$, driveshaft and clutch pedal 100$ then just need to find the slave, master and clutch cyl, and the lines....cant fuckn wait to get it all and get it put in

you can get the slave and master cylinder combo on ebay for like $50
And forget about the hard lines ues the steel braided line from master to slave cylinder - $40 (auto to manual line) www.driftfactory.com :thumbsup
 
So has anyone figured out how to get the cruise control to work?

I drive 70 miles a day to work, i live off CC. This is almost as essential as my 5spd (bull).
well you should have a sensor on the brake pedal for it? I just finished my swap today - i will try and see if my CC works tomarrow - if not - Im sure all you have to do is wire it up to an unused sensor on the clutch or brake pedals.
 
My Cruise Control works perfectly, the way I wired it up and using a 5 speed ECU

so the 5 spd ecu is the key? see the only fault i find in this write up is that they dont explain this part of the wiring. all my freinds who have done it in the area dont have cc....night kids if you could specify what you did, youd be of great help. this cc problem is whats delaying me doing my swap, cuz i only have a 3 day window and it needs to be DONE within that period, no adjustments or fixes to tinker with cuz im a busy man, and finals are coming!!!!! WOOT GO GATORS, we are gonna OWN tonight!!!
 
Well you can do it in 3 days as long as nothing goes wrong and you have every single thing you need - but as far as I am conserned something always happens - bolts break etc - and as before you will need extra bolts nuts etc so you never have everything you need.

If I only had 3 days to do the swap I would not do it until I knew I had a extra day if needed. Hell the pressure alone would make it suck - and your suppose to be having fun! :thumbsup
 
well keep in mind i have an entire 5 spd 240sx at my desposal, same year, same everything, expect its....auto. lol.

im really only concerned about the cc.
Ok well my 5 speed brake pedal had the sensor for the cruise control - FYI some 240's come without cruise control so the pedal wont have the CC sensor.

I am using the 5 speed ECU too - I have no idea on the using the auto ECU - My CC works just fine :thumbsup I didnt wire anything up as far as the CC goes - Only looped the clutch sensor into the brake pedal sensor - and the reverse lights, 5th postion and netral postion and wiring was done.

I also have a 95' 5 speed ODBII ECU for sale - email me if interested! joshds25@yahoo.com

yes looped
- basically you have 2 sensors on your brake pedal
- the green sensor with the blue plug is the one you cut
- you have 2 wires coming off it
- cut 1 wire
- then run extra wire from where you cut it on both ends
- 1 from the harness
- 1 from the sensor plug
- then solder or butt connect 1 wire to 1 wire on the clutch pedal sensor (the sensor on the front of the pedal/ which has 2 wires coming off it too) and the other wire on the clutch pedal senor goes to the wire to the harness where you cut it off the brake sensor plug.

There are a ton of things to look out for when doing a swap - and alot more that you should do while you are doing the swap - I go over everything - the differences between X members - pedals - driveshafts - s13 - s14 - pulling tranny from under the car - pulling the whole motor/tranny etc
