dude just run it along the subframe connector under the car then drill a hole wherever you want the wire to come out, you will still have to use a grommet of course but you'll have more space to work with.
I like 240nerd's sugestion. There just really isn't any spare holes in the S-14 firewall for anything close to 4 AGW wire. I drilled a hole in the firewall on the passengers side. I did it from the inside out as far up on the firewall as I could reach from under the dash. You will need to pull some of the carpet/noise dampning material down.
Just be sure to make sure you aren't drilling into anything important on the other side!
It is better off on that side anyways so you car run your RCA cables down the drivers side to keep your signal clean.
ran my 8 awg wire through the main harness wire hole. Just popped the little rubber boot off (the one by the A/C firewall outlets) and ran the wire inside until I could see it behind the glove box. There's another hole in the firewall in the driver's side fender well. Though it's not ideal just take off the fender liner and the rubber grommet should be sitting right there. Those are the two firewall holes I've used for running gauges and amp wires.
Anyone have a good method for getting the grommet for the harness on the engine bay side out? It is way too tight for me to get it out by hand...
