I just cant decide on what components to get. I was set on type R's unti guy at the store sayd Alpine doesnt make good speakers...

Should I get them? Or is there any better speakers within the same price range that you would recommend?

Who told you that? There idiots, these are the best bang for the buck IMO, w/o a sub they produce very nice bass tones and mids and highs are just awesome for the price. I would definitely get them. I also rock the Type-S 6.5's in my 14 and Love them...

I just got type R's about an hour ago, im installing them tomorrow. Ill tell you how they are.

I just installed my Type R's. I think type S has a little better quality but type R's are not bad at all. I like them atleast

I was going to get the type S's but wanted a bit better sound since Ill have an amp putting out some good power, so I got type R's instead...

I know this isn't directed towards me but I got mine for 150 at best buy. I found websites were the same price plus shipping. I am curious what the price of his were from where he got them though.

Yeah, so with the shipping it is about the same price as buying it at bestbuy. Buying it at the store is less hassle though.

I bought it from onlinecarstereo.com 149.00 I believe. Payed 25.00 for Canada shipping. Hoping they dont drop border fees on me when they arrive baaah.

Now, what ide like to know is...are they going to FIT? I have the adapters. The speakers' top mount depth is 2.33 inches...just a tad deeper then the type-S's.
I really dont wanna have to mod my door for these. Anyone know how I should go about installing these properly? Any tips would help alot! Thanks to all who replyed!

Type R's fit. I know cause well, I fit them in my car lol. They just barely fit though, youre gonna have to fiddle with it cause the depth is almost too large. The only thing you need is a harness and you're good to go.
