hey there,

i bought a pair of 6x9 speakers for my 93 240sx hatchback and was wondering if anyone has tryed to fit this size of speaker in the rear factory location of the car. Now obviously modifacations will have to be made...but if i can id like to keep it loking as stock as possible..ie no external 6x9 speaker box.

Any ideas on how i should go about doing this or plans from other 6x9 speaker installs would be greatly appreciated.

good luck

if you pop open the little screens where the 4x6 stock locations are, there isnt any room even if you take out that yellowish brownish trim that is in there

if you find a way good luck.

im not trying to flame, but you should have asked before you bought those.

I'm guessing that the stock speaker size for the 240 is 6.5''. I would recommend trying to get 6.5'' (even if that's not the correct size). You will get the most variety out of that size of speaker. You can mount it using MDF wood. It's not too hard, I did it in my '99 zx2. My side speakers in that car were originally 5x7's.

What kind of speakers did you buy?

Custom brackets? I havn't gotten to look at a 240's speakers, but most cars you can easily fab it to fit.
You can only custom fabricate brackets for the front

rears are too tiny

althou you can also fit 4"s in there if thats your thing?

I got Rockford Fostgate (P1692C) 6x9's

Thanks for the input!

i have 6.5 in the front with the custom brackets already and 2 12 inch subs in rear...

i guess i'll just play arround with them to see if i can make it fit even if i have to build it up with MDF...or just buy a set of 6x9 boxes and mount em overtop of the location..

sorry, but because you said 4700 watt system and audiobahn in the same context you obviously dont know that audiobahn sells shitty equipment

I didnt realize it at the time when i bought all of the stuff. I bought everything at one time. Unfortunatly i did find out that audiobahn's equipment is not meant for the power they claim. So when i sold my jeep i gave the system with it to shave from price off of the 240.
