I'm new to this forum, and I just got my first 240 a few days ago. Not sure if this is the right section to post, but here goes. It has an sr20det swap, which ran amazing for the drive home/the day after. I started it up 2 mornings after I got it and it seemed to run ok, a little white smoke. Then I hit a huge pot hole doing only about 3mph or so. Its been running horribly ever since. It runs SUPER rich, it will turn the plugs black in maybe 15 minutes of idle. Ive put injector cleaner in it and read the ecu, which came back with a 55 which means nothing is wrong. what could be causing it to run so rich?

That bump might have knocked a coupling or vacuum line loose, check them all. Also, depending on the quality of the swap and the wiring, the bump might have loosened some wiring. I would run through and check all the wiring associated with the swap.

ok ill check them all tomorrow. also, today i took it over to a friends so his step dad could check it out and it had like no power and i couldnt go much past 3-4k rpm. got worse as i went up in gears. would it running rich cause that? it seems to rev perfectly fine if its in nuetral/clutch is pushed in. it will sputter/backfire sometimes in nuetral but for the most part it seems to rev up just fine all the way to redline

Those symptoms you are talking about, sounds like a loose coupling, possibly. My 14 did the same thing after I did a transmission swap. We pulled the back of the motor down to get the tranny out of the tunnel. When we did that, the intercooler coupling at the throttle body came off. I didn't notice and started the car and it idled with black smoke and it sounded like there were serious cams in the motor. We found the coupling and everything was fine after that.

i tightened all the couplings on everything i could find, one or two of the ic piping was pretty loose. seemed to run a lot better after i did that, but still runs rich. i took out the plugs and cleaned them, it ran a bit better without sputtering, but still had low power. a lot more power than before, but still low. after a few times up and down the road the plugs fouled and shes spitting again real bad.

i dunno about the fpr, i dont know where its at/what it looks like T_T i think its unburnt fuel on the plugs. theyre completely black, it looks like the soot that shoots out of the exhaust. ive had a couple people tell me it just needs a tune. but i dont want to spend 150/hr on a tune and have it do nothing, so i wanna be sure that its not somethign else first

yeah i dont think it needs a tune if it was running absolutely perfect before. yeah, it smelled like fuel. and it would burn your eyes its so rich. i mean its running better now that i tightened the ic piping but still like shit most of the time. ive been trying to read everything i can and it could be the 02 sensor, fpr, a whole list of things but i dont really know how to check them myself
