i just installed my new stance gr+ pro coilovers and after about 7 hours of installing and adjusting i figured everything was ok, i took it for a ride and it felt mint. but today after a couple of miles i hear clunking around as im driving. so i jack the car up and see if everything is tight and find out the top shock bolt is a little loose so i tighten it and no more clunking but now when i turn the wheel it sounds as if the spring is tigtening then releasing tension. its almost as if it is too tight or something, has any one ever experienced this and found a way to fix it or am i in the dark here???? and answers will help

tourqe wrenches are garbage, i went to tourqe down the bolts that hold the strut to the spindle per service manual specs and the bolt snapped. fuck them shits. i also talked to some one from 240sx motoring who runs the same coilovers and they said this is pretty common.

Torque wrenches are garbage....hahaha
I'm betting you don't know how to properly use a torque wrench, hence why the bolt snapped. Google it sometime. Its very simple, but you can't use a torque wrench like you would a regular 1/2" ratchet or ratcheting wrench.

Which "bolt" did you tighten? Front or rear coilover? If it's the front main nut and you overtightened it then yes, it will have stiffened up your pillow ball and top mount not allowing it to rotate.

Even so, I don't know how you were able to overtighten it with a wrench?? You need an impact driver to get those tightened down since the damper will rotate with that nut as you turn it.

Be a little more specific with your question and maybe we can help you out a bit better.

it took about 45 min to install them what took the most time was adjusting them they werent just slap em in and drive, i dont know if you have ever done this but i was using a jack and hand tools and it was also about 100 deg. with about 90% humidity so i was kinda takin it easy. i know very well how to use a tourqe wrench and also how to read. the fsm said like 120-130 ftlbs and the bolt snapped long before i heard any click, and no it wasnt cross threaded. i talked to the guys at 240motoring and they said this was fairly common but that doesnt mean im gonna let it slide. i think i got it under control but if any one else knows any thing about adjusting coilovers and NOT TALKING SHIT your 2 cents will be taken with open arms, all others who think i dont know what im doin and this is the first time ive done suspension work can sit and spin:happyfing.

Wow dude, of course it snapped... 120-130 ft lbs?! The FSM states only 84-98 ft lbs on the bolts on the front that run through the knuckle/shock and on the rear its 65-80 ft lbs. So yeh... if you put 30+ extra ft-lbs on a bolt, it will most likely snap, so I wouldn't go blaming a torque wrench yet..

Sounds like you got the wrong info, or read something wrong.
130 ft/lb is about the range of what flywheel bolts are torqued to....never suspension parts.
And lose the attitude. You blamed the torque wrench instead of human or editorial error. Its not our fault we see things from a different pov or have more experience with it, and its not your fault either; but we do have the right to point out what the issue could be and your attitude toward the wrench was just immature. But I will say it wasn't completely irrational since torque wrenches, depending on model and design (and price) have varying accuracy.
