i cant see how the S13 and S14 turbos put out close to the same power when people have put out 300whp on the S14 T28 at around 18psi.

BoostedVR4 has a S14 T28 w/ AEM EMS making over 290whp i believe. I dont think you should put the HP ratings of the turbos up since engine setup is going to have alot to due with it. With an ECU Tune, Larger injectors, and Z32 MAF the T25 will go over 250whp. Check my cardomain at my current setup and tell me you dont think I can get over 250whp. I never had the car dynoed but it did a 106mph in the 1/4 before i did the injectors, maf, enthalpy tune, and cams.

for the S15 T28 how come you put safe boost 15-18 then put Max boost at 17. Doesnt make much sense? Max boost would really be what the turbo can push with the vacuum line off. In that case my T25 pushed 1.5 bar once when the vacuum line popped off my boost controller.

good post.

the hp ratings for those are whenever the turbo is still in its efficiency range. you can always make more power, but the turbo is just out of its efficiency range, which is bad for the turbo as it is spinning way too fast, and also heating up the air way too much which is why the power gains arent as good. if you dont care too much for your turbo though, or if you just do it on race gas every now and then, it should be fine. i got a friend who's been pushing 22-24psi on a little 14b for a very long time.

what i still cant figure out though is how the s15 t28 has the exact same specs as the s14 t28, but has an efficiency range good for higher boost. guess i just need to read up more about why that is (if someone finds out, post it here, id love to know).

FYI there are different versions (for different international markets) of both the s14 and s15 t28's. Different bearings (CHRA's) and one of the s15 versions had a seperator in the exhaust flange.
For example the Australian market never got the BB s14 turbos and only a few s15's got the BB version but were retrofitted with s14 parts instead.

here are the part numbers

Jap PS13 14411-50F00
AU/NZ S14 (pre-facelift) 14411-75F00
AU/NZ S14 (facelift) 14411-75F00
Jap S14 (pre-facelift) 14411-69F00
Jap S14 (facelift) 14411-82F01
Jap S14 (Autech/270R) 14411-RP801 (Same as S15 early MT turbo)
Jap/ NZ S15 (early*) 14411-91F00 Manual model only
Jap/ NZ S15 (early*) 14411-69F00 Automatic models

Jap/ NZ/ AU S15 late* 14411-75F00 Same as NZ S14 and same for both Auto and manual

didnt you for get the gti-r t28??? That turbo w/ an external wastegate will hold 18psi and get you 320whp.

sorry didnt see the stock motor part, no, i had it right, so your telling me that a gt28r is good for 300hp on stock motor, i think i would like to see those dyno charts

im running 1 bar with my current setup and it spins wheels all the way to 60mph when it didnt use to at the same boost with my stock setup. Boost can get you so far but adding engine mods on top will bring the power up even more, even at the same boost levels.
