Hey guys as some of you might know Im getting body work done, and well to make it short and sweet I have rust around my moonroof and need to take apart the top for welding. Im just trying to get suggestions from some of you that might have done this before. First step of taking out the moonroof, the interior of the ceiling, and what not. After this is done my car goes on the road again so Im pretty excited. So let me know how you did it and if it was hard, Im starting it probably tomorrow. Thanks

i thought a sun roof slid back over the top of the car like on a celica or rx-7, and a moonroof slid back into the roof of the car like on an s14

heres what you do (i took mine apart to spray the carpet like ceiling black, all black interior looks so much nicer than stained grey)
1. unscrew your visors, take them off
2. unscrew your mirror, take it off
3. i dont have a moon or sun roof or a coupe but im guessing your light fixture is attached to the roof also, detach this from the roof if it is attached
4. the pillar covers run from your dash to your 1/4 windows, carefully pop these off, they are held on in multiple places, (you might also have to undo a small screw on the big side panels in around the 1/4 windows to slide the tail of the pillar covers out, i dont really recall(its been a while since i did this)
5. now there might be some linings around the moon/sun roof to take off, i dont have experience in this so just toy around to try and loosen it
6. now slide the whole carpet like roof cover forward, it may be stubborn just keep edging it this way and that and you'll get it

now, i did this in my hatchback, so just use this as a guideline, my friend is going to have to do the same thing, he has rust building up behind his moon/sun roof

ive had my headliner out for a long time now. i took it out to fix a leak in my sunroof (moonroof? who knows). the hoses that drain it were clogged. i have the same rust problem though, and i imagine ill have to drop the sunroof while i work on it. im not really looking forward to it, but the dissasmbling seems pretty straightforward.
