Okay, so last summer every friday night I go to the drag strip to race my little "paul walker eclipse green" civic.( rice I know, but the color got me lots attention) I had I/H/E, a slipping exedy clutch, custom tranny, j-spec D15B engine with 3 stage vtec, msd dizzy cap, mid grade denso's, wieght reduction, short throw shifter, and weapon r suspension. I was running low-mid 10's in the eighth.
Well this Type R civic shows up and I smoke his ass about 3 times in a row. I'm thinking I'm a badass when this black s13 coupe shows up. I figure, well, i was side by side with that s15 that was up here last week, maybe i should run him. Well dude parks next to me and gets out and i got to talk to him. I start talking and he can't hear a damn thing I'm saying. So i tell him i wanna race him by writing everything down and I tell him how registering to race works cause i'm a regular and he had never been there. We pull up to burnout and then up to the light. I rev up to the usual 3500-4000 rpm. The light hits and i'm outta the hole, i look over and i had him, that was about 15 ft past the light, then here he came and smoked my fuckin ass. He ran about a 9.90, and i ran a 10.53. He got a 9.7 i believe later on that night. he was running a KA. He apparently has 187 hp at the wheels.
8 months later we were smoking up all the time and I now know sign language. Now that i got my 240 we are gonna have to have a rematch.lol.

sorry this post was so long.

dang I-40 is an actual drag strip. i saw it on a trailer and thought they were joking about I-40 being their drag strip.

but im really hoping nashville super speedway gets a nextel cup race, cause they will fnish the dirt oval, drag strip, and the road crouse. +the parking lot for those will be huge. so the local racing scene should grow in a good way.

Yeah. That would be great not only for the racing scene but also for the economy here in middle tennessee. So where is there to race or practice drifting and other driving techniques over there in Mt Juliet? I'm about an hour and a half away, and I have a drag strip about 45 minutes away, but no where to practice drift.

we have autox in the super speedway parking lot (u cant drift during autox) and we have a couple drift events towards the end of the year. (we cant have drift events during the racing season) so after the craftsman truck race we should start having some drift events.

there is also some place in cookville i think that has a drift event every other weekend but i heard the parking lot sucks and its like a cheese gratter(sp?) on ur tires.

so let me get this straight.

you added a third stage of vtec to a d15b? cause they only have 2.

then you beat a ctr with it.

then a s15.

then you got beat by a ka s13.

and your mods are a distibutor cap, spark plugs, and shitty sleeve coilovers teamed with a slipping clutch?

GO YOU!!

jdm d15b engines, after 1995 came with 3 stage vtec dumb ass. and I had I/H/E, a slipping exedy clutch, custom tranny, short throw shifter and wieght reduction. Yes i smoked the ctr.
the s15 barely got me. All i said is that we were side by side.
And yes the s13 smoked my ass.
