Im a Newb Here but Not to the datsun/nissan scene. I currently daily drive a 77 620. Bought it from an old guy and it was tired and needed repair. After building an engine for it I decided that I would never reach my HP goals with the Factory engine no matter how much I modified it. It was Time for an SR swap. There wasn't any info out there on swapping an SR into a 620 truck but I made do. The truck is a blast to drive and the state police love it. I am currently looking at a 91' fastback LE for sale and I would like to purchase it so that I can tear my 620 down to the frame. The 240 will be a reliable daily driver when I get done with it. If I can pick it up for the right price I should have it in the garage in a few weeks. Why doesnt any of the other newbs post pictures here?

Car had 197,xxx on it, stock dual slammer KA. Manual Tranny. Currently Non Operational.

New to these cars. I got the wife a 92 240 5speed coupe. She wants to drift...lol I was told this is the car for that. So I got it for her. I know nothing about these cars.. As a side note she has been auto crossing my sti for a little while now.

A little about myself-- I have been racing miata's for years now. I currently have a 96 1.8l boosted / setup for road courses.

Any pointers would be great.

got a 91 s13 5speed. tore out the swapped ka24de and working on a sr20 redtop build. been part of the s chasis scene since july. first 240 and looking to get the sr in and running by this march fingers crossed! located in orange county ca...

Have a 95 240sx white and been working on it for awhile my never ending project.

whats up everyone finally got me another 240. It's a 91 hatch SE 5 speed. got 160k miles and smokes...
It's got a decent body with one minor dent and one very minor dent. The hatch is trash though mad rust. I may fix it but I want to get a non se hatch with no damn wiper or spoiler.
Plans are to seafoam it do all the maintenance stuff hopefully it's just the valve seals that are bad, then i'll change them out... I'll be doin a compression and leak down test soon.
Clean the hell out of the interior, new window motor, some new trim, carpet, passenger mirror...
Then I/H/E, Bunch of Suspension and wheels/tires... Then build another KA to throw in ther.

I heard what I thought was the common timing chain rattle, but I didn't know what it sounded like (my last hatch didn't have it) and it sounded terrible to me like metal on metal rattling so I popped the valve cover off and check out what I saw....

So I did the guide removal the easy way lol

I don't own a 240sx but plan on purchasing one within the next two years or so, basically as soon as I can afford it. I'm a huge fan of drifting and would love to turn it into a track car. Since I'm currently paying off my daily driver, I figured the least I could do is start learning about the 240sx and the process of upgrading it. My name is Sean. I'm from Edmonton (Canada). Just bought my first 240sx a week ago. It has the original KA engine that the previous owner turboed and I suspect it has a blown head gasket and or a bad MAF sensor so it is parked till summer until I get a chance to look into it further.

Hello everyone! New to the forum and wanted to say hey. I have an 89 240 hatch with a recent rb20det swap that I done in my driveway. Just wanna get my car solid so I figured no better place to come then a 240 forum

 

All your what says 180? It's LHD, it's got a KA, it's a plain jane 240.

 

Let me make my statements clear maybe Im coming off wrong. My car is a bone stock 240SX base model, I will call it a 180sx when I order body kit parts from places like Origin. I say 180sx & they know its a pop up headlight hatch, thats all. I know its a plane jane 240 coz hey we in america & they are all for the most part plane jane 240s unless converted to RHD, bigger brakes, LSD & SR. ( by the way my car has all that but the RHD coz I dont care about driving a postal car & SR coz for that price I will add a GTO drivetrain.) I will stick with KA24DE-T

Thats my fault for coming in here & talking like I have no knowledge to be humble. This is my 2nd 240sx, 1 coupe & now the hatch. Aside from that Ive been in the game for a very long time but this is my 1st "drift build". :beer2:

Hello hello... Its been a long time since I have been in the Sports compact car arena... Sold all my toys to grow up and buy a house a few years ago... But I missed getting my hands dirty. Soooo picking up my new (to me) 93 240SE with 105k miles Friday... Planning on keeping her looking mostly stock... sounding mostly stock and sticking a turbo on her as fast as possible... blowing the engine and then doing a complete rebuild.

In retrospect that sounds a lot more idiotic then I intended… I am going to run very low boost on the stock internals until something starts leaking bad enough to require a rebuild…Not going out with the intent to kill the motor. I am hoping to find a kit with everything but the Turbo and then purchasing that separately since. So if anyone happens to know of a good place to acquire that please let me know. There seems to be a huge wealth of info on this site gonna take a few months of reading to parse through it all ***EDIT****
