top speed

i toped out at 94 last night...
fuel pump and inj #2 went out... but i have done 130+ and still had roughly half a gear to climb

I was able to max out my old '97 240 at 135mph years ago. Stock KA with bolt ons. Pretty slow.

idk lol my 4th hits 115mph and i still have 5th. my friend drove STI next to my car and he said i was at 133mph and was at 4900rpms in 5th. ive taken my car to 6k rpms in 5th but dont know how fast i was going......

im askin cuz my govenor cut in at around 120 i think ill top it tomorrow and see what it hits

Be careful....... it'll take a long time to get there so make sure you have plenty of room...

ya the governor needs to be removed it only toped out at 120 and it got there pretty fast but need a higher speed

Why do you need a higher speed? A stock KA's not going to push much more than that, even with the governor removed. Do you have the tires, suspension, safety mods, and aero to support such speeds? Don't go killing people on the highways...please!

^i do, and it was at 2am w/ open hwy lol. virtually no one on it on both sides....anyway, my exit came a little faster than i expected. lol.... but yea, like rlong said, stay safe...

i did a 3 gear pull last night with the new fuel pump n injector and hit 93 leaving 3rd.(90 is fast enough on a 75...) one of these months ill be going to a track to see what i top out at...

when i go to work its real early and no one else is on the road i wouldnt do it if there was people on the road i agree with you guys to stay safe i travel oln the free way from and to work and when i did top it no one was on the free way with me it was real early in the morning

Like Boostin said, just leave it alone. It is assumed that a lot of people out there "speed" on the streets. However we don't want to know about it or hear about it. It's illegal, and you don't really want it documented in a public forum. Also, if you were to bite it at 120+ mph, in the middle of the night on the freeway, who do you think's going to find you if there's nobody around? I'm just sayin....

What happens when some wildlife (deer/squirrel/etc) runs out when you're at 100. Bye bye num. That car certainly isn't build to withstand a crash at that speed.

Having raced at those speeds, the S chassis isn't meant for it without modification. It's downright dangerous.

Last, no poor schmuck wants to have to get out of bed way early in the morning cause some kid wanted to play race car.


Now, that being said, we all do stupid things. I'm not gonna act like the worlds greatest driver. Will you listen? Eh, based on people's usual reactions, probably not. Do we want to hear about it? Nope.

lol, sorry boostin, i have to say this.....theres no deer in my area...the biggest thing in my area would be a coyote or something, and well, goodbye coyote....lol, i'd rather replace the radiator..anyway, with that being said, it takes to damn long to get to top speed, so why does it matter. dont trip, at the track you'll probably get to about 80mph, then have to downshift and slow down for the next corner. so there's no need lol. anway, this is starting to turn into a bragging match and a few answers have been given.... so with that note....
