152? w/ the KA?

i have made it to 115 and thats it. how the hell did you make it 150+?????? i think the raising of the flag is good

 

the KA reaches about 117 i say at max and fuel cuts off. I tried many times. Really upset when i start going for it and all of a sudden it stops

 

Look up Governer....this is all old, I know this and this is my first post here

Basically the governer cuts your fuel at 115. There are ways to remove it though.

Fuel cutoff is around 120mph. At least that's when mine maxes out. There is no way in hell you hit 152mph with a slightly modded motor.

this isnt any bs on it. I think theres something wrong with the sending unit and it no longer works right. how i got 152 with out gauges my buddy was on hid bike right beside me. But the ka will pull that speed but thats about it my clutch starts giving out.
I understand thinkin its bs but i tellin the truth. If u look when yours cuts of notice how many RPM's you have left.

 

I have been on Road Atlanta with a Z32 NA school car, and on the 1 mile long backstrech the fastest I could get it to was 137 in 4th gear. Those cars have minor mods and a v6, there is no way a KA could get to 152, the wind resistance would have killed it anyway.

 

I got mine up to 115 yesterday with no problem.

with all the mods i got now i would be happy if i can run up to 135mph. there is no way taht a 155hp KA can run up to 152mph. thats even more high end then a 255hp 03 maxima 6 speed. cause those only goes up to 145 plus i think you must've mistaken something. just becasue we have plenty of rev's left. that does not mean that we have the hp to push the car to go any faster.

 

A). Even if your buddy said you were going 152 according to his speedo, bike speedometers are inaccurate as hell. They are HIGHLY optimistic.

B). In 5th gear you would be revving at 6300 rpm (assuming that you have stock tire size, or something equivelent). 6300 rpm is WAY past the power peak. If that weren't bad enough, the KA tends to fall on it's face pretty hard after peak power is made. In other words, your car is only making like 85% of it's peak power by then, so there is no way you could have done that. You really gotta get your story straight here.

 

I admit I haven't read this whole thread but I am a little foggy on how you can tell you are going 152 if your gauges are all shut down.

I have been to 180 km on my speedo but I estimated higher via the tach. I have been to 190 km with more room to climb but I didn't want to break anything. I don't see how you can go 152 if it all shuts down and you are stock. The computer will only allow you to go so far. I have an after market computer. (and a few other little things.

 

190 kph is entirely more reasonable than 152 mph =) Without a governor the 240 can get up to around 135 mph (~215 kph) IIRC (peak power in 5th gear). If all his gauges shut down, then the speed limiter was bypassed, but there is still the problem with the 5th gear rev limiter that cuts at about 125 or so that he should have hit. So yea, there are just a few holes in his story I think.

 

top speed in my car, with 8 mm spark plug wires and platnum 4 plugs, and exhaust done up to the cat (cause i need it, soon getting full catback exhaust) i hit about 122 before my car went "bump" bump means your car cant go no more. Your rpms prolly still went cause your on the gas pedal, but your speed prolly did not.

 

If the revs go up, so does the speed. There is no way that his engine could spin faster, but not the wheels ( unless his clutch was slipping, but that is highly unlikely).

 

so if your in nutral and step on the gas your rpms go up but you speed does not. if your in 2nd and step on the clutch and gas rpms go up but speed does not. if your buring your clutch or clucth stick to floor yours rpms go up but not your speed. be more specific =)

 

Yes, any idiot knows that all of those are true. I didn't point out the blatently obvious because everyone assumes the guy wasn't retarded enough to step on the clutch or put the car in neutral while trying to accelerate. Seriously, why state something that everyone else all ready knows?

The top speed I had was 245 Kph (152 mph).
But that was what my speedo said.
I belive I was about 235 Kph (146 mph).
That is also, what the license sais.

You guys say the ka has proxy. 150hp.
So the SR has 200.

(The only advantage of Germany, speaking of cars, is, that you can go as fast as you like; most the time.........;-)

I ventured off to around 120 - 125, but IMO I really doubt you made 152mph.

You can't assume everything.....

On the part about clutch, i dont get it all the way?
my foots no where near the clutch only on the gas.
My clucth gives out around that speed.
I took it to the shop my sending units malfuntioning.
this allows me to go faster than suppose to.
Its sorta like replacing my ECU which would enable me to go faster.
But if Nobody belives come to LaGrange GA and find me. My cars about twelve diffrent colors right now. In the middle of bodywork.

Well my speedo goes to 260 kph. But that is stock in germany.
No, of course my license doesnt measure speed.
But you get a registration license, where the top speed of your car has to be quoted.
