Transmission rebuild ?'s

Does anyone know a general price for having a transmission rebuilt or has anyone rebuilt their own transmission? I have seen gear sets for sale before but I have never seen a write up or heard of anyone talking about doing it themselves before. Any help?

dont try to do it urself unless u kno exactly what you are doing. Your best bet will be to just buy a new transmission since a rebuild by a shop is going to be costly.
I figured it wouldn't be cheap, but by "new", you mean used right? The reason I wanted to know is that I thought the idea of putting a transmission with 100k + miles onto a freshly rebui;t motor was kinda weird. I dunno

It's gonna be cheaper for you to buy a rebuilt transmission than to have yours rebuilt. Honestly, if you haven't already done an engine swap, just get a sr or ca with the tranny and put it in for a little bit extra money.

Yeah by new i meant new used, just get a used s14 sr or ka (which ever one ur using) and you should be fine.
dont mean to jack this..but its saving some space...How much on average is the price of labor to install a new clutch and flywheel that i provide?
