I think if you are a true enthusiasts then you can admire any engine swap into any car. This is just a updated version of the V8 kit for the 240Z....

im just gonna get an older heavy ass sbc 350 and drop it in all by myself (no hinson million dollar kit)

I think the swap is great. the ls1 is all aluminum and weighs the same, if not less, than a stock ka. think about all the power you would be getting from a v8, without extra weight from a turbo kit, heavier engine, etc.

that picture has a supercharger installed, and the owner has to use a cowl hood. If there was no supercharger, the engine sits pretty neat inside the bay and clears the hood.

I know there are people that think dom motors dont belong in imports, but I'm just down for people doing what they want to increase their cars potential and fun factor.

Don't listen to these guys. You can pick up an LS1 for probably the same price as an SR20. And seeing as the LS1 with bolt ons is capable of 400 hp with just bolt ons its a great swap. Not to mention its about the same weight as an SR. I don't see what these kids problem is. Maybe because they already put thousands into their cars with nissan oem and don't want to be outdone with a chevy motor.

i have a buddie who just dropped a mustabg 5.0 302 into thier s13 , took only like a few weeks .......car is fast as hell and turns heads everywhere

That's awsome and all but it says it only makes roughly 300hp....I mean thats alot for a 240 don't get me wrong but it's no where near 400. Also that 300 seems to be rated at the flywheel or torque converter...did the vh45 even come in 5spd or is there any 5spd tranny that will work with it? That could also be a downfall. Cause with the LS1 you have the choice or automatic or 6 spd. Plus is there a kit they make for this swap? Cause theres already kits out for the S13 LS1/LT1 I belive. I probably wouldn't do an LS1 240 just because I'd rather do it to an FC/FD.

Truthfully if I could afford it, I'd buy myself a ws6 ls1 trans am firebird.

 

If I could afford it I would throw a LS7 in there with cams, headers, and some nitrous. With basic mods those motors are already hitting 700RWHP. That would be really scary in a 240 though, but it would be some scary fun....
